It's still only 16 degrees today and raining and fucking COLD.

I thought that yesterday's maximum of 13.9 was the coldest maximum for June on record -- it's actually the lowest maximum that Townsville has EVER had!!! We go down lower than 13.9 but it never ever stays at that ALL DAY. Apparently it was colder here yesterday than Brisbane and Sydney!

Man I wish I had some warm clothes and gloves. :o CHILLY!!!!

    Some randomness:

Rather than being birthed like a normal child, Chuck Norris instead
decided to punch his way out of his mother's womb. Shortly thereafter
    he grew a beard.

    Good Day...

    actually - speaking of randomness...

one of my boys brought home a book called horrible histories: dreadful diary - it lists horrible weird events for each day of the year, so you can see what you share your birthday with

for example - my birthday: Unpopular Tsar Peter III used to stick his tongue out at priests in church. Not anymore. Today he dies in a scuffle at the dinner table...

well - i got a pretty un-exciting one - i dont even know who peter III is, but

but give me a day and ill tell you what weird historical event you share it with...

    6 October
Bulgaria 1014 - The Bulgarian army gropes its way back home, defeated by Basil the Byzantine Emperor. Defeated - and de-eyed, because Basil has had the Bulgarians blinded. One man in every hundred, however, has been left with one eye so he can guide the rest of the army back to the homeland. Bulgarian leader Samuel is so upset by the defeat he has a fit and dies.

    Well - today in histoy:

    304 AD
St Alban's Day. Alban is sheltering a Christian priest when the Roman soldiers march in to search for the man. Alban pretends he is the priest. The Romans believe him ...and give him the chop. The priest is happy (and free), the Romans are happy because they think they've got their man, and Alban is happy because he is a nutter. Only God is unhappy. He makes the executioners eyes fall out. Plop! plop!
