Of course growing up in the country, there was nothing better to do than hand out with my mates... mainly boys and learn all about cars and the ins and outs. and yes... im surprised I didnt kill myself either. My second Car was a VQ Stateman Caprice, V8, stock standard but dammit I used all the horsepower she had!! I remember the day before I got my beautiful 17 inch (big in those days) chromies on her.... I smoked her up on the old tyres at the end of the driveway, on the bitchie, for my Dad.... He tried not to be proud, with Nan standing beside him slapping me on the wrist, but I knew by the glimmer in his eye that he was proud as punch!! I will remember that day forever...
EDIT : and everyone always asked if it was my boyfriends car.... dumb arses....
hehe - i could drive stockcars like a pro by the time i was 10.
sadly tho - me very first car was a little datsun. we paid somethinkg like 600, 700 for it, with heaps of rego - i owned it for about two months and was due to move to canberra to my first job, and had the move all organised for early the next day - went out for a big one - got very pissed, as you do. fell asleep on someones lounge and woke up thinking shit! jumped in the car, flew down the main street, round the corner out of town onto this big cement bridge - thought 'shit i must look a mess' as i took a quick look in the rearview mirror - next minute SLAM! up against the bridge.
So i hoped out - had a quick look - all the left hand was sort of scrunched up, but i tried the key and the engine started so i slowly drove off - about 10 metres and then the front left wheel fell off.
mmm - needless to say - my dad was not proud of me that day. BUT! you can still see a mark on the bridge from my carimpatience is a gift ........0 -
Speaking of cars my first was a an 83 TG Gemini, it was light blue, very gay. my bro used to call it blue nurses blue, but at least i owned the fucker, he never owned a car always needing to get finance.
then i saved for years and got my arse a white VQ statesman, paid $15,000 cash and had it for ages til last year i decided to sell it(for $6,000) seeing as i never drove it anymore cause if i wasn't driving my Rodeo work ute we'd be in the car my wife drives, a ford territory, it's not bad for a ford!condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -

Night Joel... nice seeing ya
My first was a Holden VL.... i fuckin loved it. Had it resprayed midnight blue, put some VN Calais rims on it, and tinted the windows black! It was awesome! have to admit I was the Chick with the cool cars in my town!! sold it to another chick before i bought the stateman... always regretted selling both those cars, i loved them so much. Actually, i was considering buying an old VL in good nick instead of buying a new car.... never know...he who forgets will be destined to remember0 -

I didnt see the Pic of you in the Devil Tee... dunno who it was.
i would have bought more posters... such a great price thru 10C... but Andy and I just forked out a shiteload of cash this last month and things are a little tight till, well we get more mulla! would have loved to get a ccfa poster... the anticipation would be awesome!
Yeah I like old Holdens....
U should try and get a poster from the ccfa when they do the ding and dent sale...
I need to do an adult ed course in framing.......:)0 -
zenith wrote:this round i got newie (how could i not) , perth - the cars are great, ned, and sydney 1 & 3. my ccfa is a newie one - # 78 out of 250. But i didnt realise they had a secret sale. Ill have to go for the scratch & dent sale. i love my pearl jam room - it so makes me want to see them again tho.
and the cars in those posters. cmon, a gt is a classic - and the number plates!!! i have often thought about doing a check on pj personalised plates - or is that just a little too tragic.
i grew up in a family of complete car nuts and mechanics, and when i was about 20, 21 i had a 1974 lh torana - bright lime green and black, with the huge dragway mags, a custom 350 chev droped in it and a converted 5 speed munchie box. its a wonder i didnt kill myself in it, but wholly shit it went. I had personalised plates - LH 350 (lh being my intitials too) guys would stop me in parking lots and ask me if it was my 'boyfriends car'
Post some pics of your PJ room it sounds cool....:)
Yeah the stickers and plates looks cool on the GT
Ive got personalised plates on my car and they are my initials but it matches my car as well....
Talking about initials yesterday Phoebe got a signit ring yesterday and she had her initials engraved on it they are PJ.......Looks cool......0 -
Night room.....my ice cream has finally re frozen....:)0

nothing beats driving one of your mums two cars everywhere. its the best, no rego, no ongoing costs just fuel and the road. woot. i love it..0

Hey Trudie, I'm from country Vic too and I'm not a revhead. yeah ok ok i generalised a little.
Back in the sticks where im from... thats what i did.
Lived on a Dairy Farm for 21 years... did all the boy stuff when i was a youngen, driving the tractor at 2, riding the 4 wheeler at 4, driving the Isuzu with bulletholes in door at 6..... doing the hard yakka.... nothing girlie about me!
Sounds like I should insert "chugging a beer at 5" in there somewhere!!
So for me anyway, and alot of the chicks in my town where not revheads so i take it back. But they lived in the town you see.... i lived on the farm in the bush..... im trying to justify myself here:D!!!
