 You missed the new stuff? Oh no Jordy! It was fantastic!

ah well. as long as it meant i missed that duet with Bono on drums & Boom on vocals then its probably worth it. ugh

i got 11 guitar picks at end tho so not all bad! good to see ed do his first bile competition of the decade too. you really didnt stand a chance against him

the ukelele version of Blood was my favourite re-arrangment of the nite now that i think about it

yeh, boom should stick to the organ and bono should definitely leave the drumming to Larry... I hope they're not putting that one on the album

11? Good going... and was there a full set in there too? I got a lock of Ed's hair :) I'm not sure I was supposed to though :o but it's now draped over my tambourine at home alongside the sock that Mike gave me :)

    Ooohh yeh, Blood WAS fantastic.

    Well my fanview is hither....

After getting the text from tenclub to say that my tickets were already set aside from me, I set on my merry little way to Stab City, complete with snackage for the journey. After making just outside of Nenagh, the car went chuggachugga and cut out (I didn't notice for a while as I was singing quite loudly). I, as any damsal in distress would do, phoned me Da telling him he had to get me to Limerick asap! he arrived eventually anyway, and got me to Limerick (thank fuck for that bypass around Moyross!) We managed to get to the front door, where I politely told all those on the queue-list to fuck off or me Da would box them down the steps. Found the back door, and waited patiently to be let in before the other mongrels :p

next thing ye know, Ed comes out and bums a smoke off me Da, and seemed quite delighted that he only smoked cigars, and offered to let me Da in to watch the show too.

I think the highlight of the show was me Da meeting Stone, think he reminded him of Declan Nerney a little, and they spoke of country music for a while.

Highlights for me were Ed's double somersault with a twist including double front with a ½ twist, full-in, ½ in-1/2 out and full-out, with the perfect landing off of Bono's Ma's gee, whilst he sang Given to Fly.

    Overall an alright show :D

  • Have to say my own personal highlight of the show was Bushleaguer, the way they adapted it for Bertie Ahern and threw in stuff about the Mahon tribunal and Shannon Airport fiasco. Fair play to Ed for finding a Bertie mask, didn't think there was such a thing. Had a game of chess with Matt after the show and I asked him if they would join us in Pearl Jem on stage in Ardee tonight, his reply was simply 'No way, fuck that'! I was disappointed but I admired his honesty. Roll on their Lisdoonvarna show on the 18th.

ooOOoo... does anyone have a spare for the show. I'm now going to be back in the area at the time. After Limerick's show I NEED another fix. Please? Anyone? I'll pay a fair price and have some pj related stuff you might be interested in!

Limerick was great but I couldn't help thinking that they were just warming up for the big one tomorrow night...oh yes...you guys know what I'm talking about. The first of three nights of PJ in none other than Grunge's second home, often referred to as 'Ireland's Seattle'(and not just cos of the rain and drug problems),I'm talking about the one and only, the world renound, Newbridge of course. People are pretty excited about it in my humble hometown I have to say,we haven't seen this kind of excitement here since Newbridgeapalooza during the summer, headlined by The Police,U2 and Bruce Springsteen.I know Pj sounds a bit tame compared to that but people might be looking for something to take their mind off the Christmas shopping so they probably won't mind that it isn't quite showbizzy enough for Newbridge.

Also, anyone think Pj could've got someone better than a reunited Soundgarden to support? This is fuckin Newbridge like,we have standards!

That is absolutely amazing. I just don't know how they kept it a secret for so long. Great surprise. I'm thinking we'll have a bit of Temple of the Dog too, seeing they're all there.... Thanks for putting me up Carlos D - I owe you a pint or two! :D

PM sent red :) of course you can have my spare :) after THAT performance the other night, it just won't be the same without ya. Of course I'm sure PJ's security will request that you're in restraints from the beginning, but I'm sure it will be worth it.

Wow! I mean who woulda thunk that a Pearl Jam concert in IRELAND would be cancelled because of a snake infestation? :o It was nice of them to set up in the wee pub around the corner and play a couple though but after Ed's drink got spiked (redrock? :o ) it just wasn't quite the same :o
