    I've never been one of those swoony types - chick flicks, romance novels, soap operas - you can have 'em.

    To me, romance (I don't even like that word; reminds me of the screaming women on Oprah) isn't some sweeping dramatic shower of gifts but moreso how love, whether in bloom or after, is expressed. The sweet unexpected gestures, thoughtfulness, inside jokes, a meeting of the eyes. Sometimes it even has nothing to do with me, but of my perception of him and his actions.

    Dancing naked in the dark to Otis Redding when a fierce thunderstorm is raging outside. Then pushing all the furniture aside to lie under the window to see the lightning and spend the night on a cosy bed you made on the floor :shifty:

    A lot of romance comes from Otis. It is romantic even to do the dishes together when Otis is spinning :lol:
    We women are easy to deal with :P

    Unexpected packages are romantic to me?

    When I get a box of random stuff the guy collected every time he thinks of me, and then mails it...
    My heart melts.

    The latest packages contained....

    Hazelnuts, music from local bands, Punk rock stickers, strange business cards, an original Clive Barker sketch, and a bag of fritos?

    Soap from France, a melted chocolate bar, a grape flavored condom ment, and a ticket stub from a zoo in Germany?

    An empty ziplock bag, a dollar bill, a roll of life savers, merch from a Roller Derby game and a calender of Custom Low Rider bicycles

    I never know. :D

    I like to mail back something equally strange, last time I mailed, some local rockabilly music, acorns, a leather bracelet, Korean cookies, and Chilli spice kit neatly packaged in a cigar box.

    But he says we are just friends

    It shouldn't be a job. Smart men need to realize, " Oh crap, she's smarter than me" It's a job for me to not correct a smarty pants man. Except when he's dead wrong and I'm VERY right.

    Laughing is the easy part.
    Make my stomach and face hurt from hours of giggles and you can't even breathe cause you are laughing harder,
    that is romance .
