Why the frenzy over GA?

For years and years we all got our 10club tickets, and were all happy to be in the building, and wherever our number put us, we were all basically happy with our seats. But for this Wrigley show, why is it a "MUST" for some people to be in GA? If your 10club number got you 15-20 rows from the stage in prior years, or if your # got you 1st section side stage, those were pretty damned good seats. Yet this time around, for many of you, it was "GA or Bust".
Why the frenzy for Ga?
I see people now saying I they cant score GA than they are not going to the show, Period.
I just dont get it. Those same people have been to 20-40 shows, having never once stood in a GA pit, right?
But now if they dont score GA, they no longer want to go to the show?
That just doesnt make any sense to me.
Maybe I am missing something.

Maybe it's the opportunity of getting up front that makes people go crazy - those that have a bad number know that this show is probably their only chance to see PJ from up close (in the US anyway), so they really want to get that chance.0

People who live in the Chicago area have even been posting on other sites that they won't go because they didn't win the 10C lottery :fp: :fp:2003: San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Seattle; 2005: Monterrey; 2006: Chicago 1 & 2, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Detroit; 2008: West Palm Beach, Tampa; 2009: Austin, LA 3 & 4, San Diego; 2010: Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis; 2011: PJ20 1 & 2; 2012: Missoula; 2013: Dallas, Oklahoma City, Seattle; 2014: Tulsa; 2016: Columbia, New York City 1 & 2; 2018: London, Seattle 1 & 2; 2021: Ohana; 2022: Oklahoma City0 -

Not hard to understand. PJ doesn't play too many GA shows, so when they do people who never had a shot at being so close normally now have a shot and they are excited.hippiemom = goodness0

Don't understand the pouting either. Why intentionally miss what will undoubtedly be one of the most memorable evenings with Pearl Jam to date just because you can't be in the coveted first few rows.
I don't get it either. Like at all. Sit back and enjoy the once in a lifetime experience from whatever vantage point you are fortunate enough to get. Just my opinion.Nice shirt.0 -

I would be happy to sit anywhere in the building.Eraserhead wrote:So you'd all be happy to swap GA tickets for non-GA tickets?
I have been happy to sit anywhere in the building for 20 years.
But now, for some strange reason, if people cant sit in GA, they refuse to go to the show altogether. And that my friend, is very strange in my eyes.Take me piece by piece.....

its the normal people you gotta watch out for0 -
Given that the answers to most of your questions are fairly self-evident, I'm guessing your just poking around to judge. The cost for GA tickets are the same as the cost for seats; maybe folks are willing to pay that price for GA, but would rather sit it out otherwise. What of it?
Edit: It could also be folks who would have to travel for the show. Maybe it's worth the expense and effort of a trip to have GA tickets for this show, but if seats are the best they can do they'll just wait for a local show.0
