I am deeply frustrated in not being drawn for the Wriggly Field Chicago Show '13. I am a member of the 10club so that I may enjoy the security and ease of accessing Pearl Jam concert tickets, and not be forced into the uncertainty of accessing tickets through the sale to the general public. This is a socialist act of treason against the very fans who love and support the band! Annually paying 10club dues should give me the right of accessing tickets to every show before tickets are released for sale to the general public. In a nation of freedom and opportunity, non-members have the freedom and opportunity to become members and enjoy the rights that should be given to loyal members. Instead, the current ticketing policy allows only a select few (randomly chosen) the security of aquiring their tickets pre-sale. I admit I am not a long standing member, but even more troubling of the policy is the thought of a person who has been a member since the 10club's origination, yet has not been randomly chosen for this show!
I am torn between the utter disgrace of this policy, and my love for the band. I never thought that my love for the band would ever be tainted by an issue beyond the actual music, but as sad as it may be I am reconsidering my membership. I hope many more are as well! Those who have the power to implement and change this policy should give 10club members the respect derserved in reviewing it. As it stands, I will wait in line with the general public with my 10club patch and inform those who are willing to listen of this disgraceful policy. They will know that this is the only fan club that I have been a member that will not guarantee me this security, and the watered-down member benefits that I questionably enjoy.

Although our friend Jerrod is completely overreacting, I can see where he's coming from and how he feels. I also did not realize that it would be highly unlikely that I would get drawn for my 1st and only choice of GA. I didn't have the funds to make a second and third choice. So I got nothing. As a longstanding 10club member I am severely dissapointed that I did not get 10club tickets for this show that I was looking sooooo forward to attending. I have gotten 10club tickets for all the shows I have attended over the years, and have never been shut out until now. I do not care for this new system. I think that it should be re-evaluated.
that said. I will not cry about it. (although I feel like it) I will not denounce the tenclub because I still love the worlds greatest band and their fan club. I will not name call. I will still attempt to obtain tickets for what should be a monumental occasion at Wrigley Field.
The only way to be fair would be for 10C to not have any alloted seats, public sale all the way.
Geesh man. You lose out on one drawing and now you wanna blow up the whole thing?
First I'm a woman
No, that's not it. A public sale is the only way all PJ fans have a fair shot at tickets. Am I not correct?

I know the definition of socialism. It means communism.. or facism... or marxism or something like that.

Love you guys.
Not really directed at you, but maybe it's the way that I think. The new system is fine...if you don't throw all your eggs in the "first tier or bust" basket.
A lot of people naturally want to be up close. It's why people wait outside for hours (or even days) for college football and basketball games. If you just want to go and don't care where you sit, you don't mind showing up in advance.
If a team is giving away "free tickets to first 100 fans", then there may be a line over night. If you just show up an hour before, you could be hosed.
With all that said, I understood the system perfectly. I know, I know...good for me. Once everyone who had "first priority" was selected, IF there were any left over, they'd go to "second priority."
Naturally, a lot of people would want the first tier. I'm have a sneaky suspicion that not too many people had first priority way in the back. If someone had first priority for way in the back, they were in. If you had first priority in the middle and second in the back, you were probably into the middle.
If you did "Front, middle, back" you probably got shut out.
There'll be lots of extras though...don't worry.
With all that said, not everyone can tie up $500 for several days. What they should have done was either charge only the winners their cost, or charge something like $50 per option as the hold. If you wanted all three options, that would only be $150. If you wanted two options, the hold would have been $100...and then they just charge the difference when you win.
With THAT said, I think a lot of people picked their ticket options on the first day. No bonus or priority was given for that. Do the ticket option about 10-20 minutes before the lotto closed and only tie that money up for a few minutes maybe.
Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"
I have been in the club for a few years, longer than some, less than others. I chose GA as my only selection and didn't expect anything. I...GOT...LUCKY! I went with the attitude that I would probably not get the tickets and we'd just wait it out until they came closer to where we live. Again, I...GOT...LUCKY! I love this band and all that they stand for. I think they do everything they can to satisfy ALL of their fans (remember, some may not be able to afford to even go to a concert, let alone be in 10club). Next time I may not be as lucky, but, if I want to see them bad enough, I'll find a way.
Don't take your frustrations out on PJ, please. They really do try to do the what is right, in all things (look at their causes that they righteously stand up for, for instance). No one here loses...they are always touring. Catch them next time or get to the ballfield and score some great seats! It can be done!

Then for the remaining tour dates lotto for 10C seats - seniority has no influence.
Yes I know 10C is a lot of people, Alpine could hold us though don't you think
I like that idea as long as it is close to me, which it is, so great idea!
I think they'd need to do a 10 Club only tour
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
