Can you believe she didnt sing the national anthem at the inauguration? YEP its true!

Now you mean to tell me that she didnt have time to prepare for the biggest song performance of her life?
Maybe she was sick? NO
Maybe it was too cold? NO
HMMMMM

Isnt this deceit? Or just plain wrong? I dont like it, cause it sends a message to everyone that this is how Washington works! Its all fake and its all smoke and mirrors! Its like a microcosm of how life is here....it transcends down into our youth and tells them that life isnt always what you think!

Well shouldnt this be one of those genuine moments? Shouldnt we be able to rely on these type of moments to embrace reality and true talent?
Theres no time like the present

I tried singing "Stairway To Heaven" in my underwear while standing outside on a snowy day once and believe me, I should have lip synced!

A small portion of the above statement is slightly fabricated.

Because the president won a second term and white men just found out that being a white man no longer makes them always win.

To Kill A Mockingbird lied to them.
  • Didn't she lip sync her pregnancy? If she's willing to do that... :fp:
  • How much money did these people spend on seeing her in concert? Oh it was free and it was the star mangled banner. Big deal.

Anybody who used to watch soul train or any show like that knows what a star looks like wasted and lip syncing.

she's a pop singer. that's what pop singers do in times of great pressure. because they aren't true talents.

How did politics and race enter into this ridiculous discussion?

This whole thing is as silly and inconsequential as the local news just now dedicating time to Michelle Obama's fucking bangs.

Now if they were comparing Michelle's booty to Beyonce's then we'd have a story.

You mean a...solid, substantial story? ;)

In the end, it really doesn't matter to me - SHE doesn't matter to me. But, I do appreciate when people own up to their (in)actions.

    Come clean!

OK, I'll come clean: until recently I thought Beyonce was an opera singer.

    Oh brian, brian, brian....

I just can't stand the whole lipsyncing thing. If you can sing...sing loud and live! Even if you fuck it up, I appreciate the honest effort.

Straying a little maybe... but I believe that concert tickets and information when buying tickets should have to include a statement that lip syncing is part of the show when it is used. Otherwise I believe they are falsely advertising their product.

As for the national anthem at the inauguration? Really? Can't sing it live? Wow. Just wow. That is pretty stupid.

I was at the market the other day and they had some autotune shit on. I literally (and I don't use that term often!) felt like that person who had seizures when listening to Mary Hart. My head and ears hurt from it.

And cincy - I'm with you...which is why the last five shows I've been too were Tool and PJ :P

I agree with your sentiment on concerts where DANCERS pretend to sing.
    ...
As for the National Anthem... at big events, those are often pre-recorded to which the on field performer sings along with. What we hear is the recorded version played through the P.A. system (or through the engineering booth to the broadcast), the mic'd singer on the field and all of the background stadium sounds. The reason being, you do not want the National Anthem (which isn't the easiest song to sing) screwed up at the Super Bowl or World Series Games. A Wednesday night game between the Padres and the Mets... not a big deal. Game 7 of the World Series... a different story.

If you are worried about a screw up at a big LIVE event, then don't have someone pretend to sing at all. Heck, if you are worried abotu a screw up, we need to stop having live events all together. I'm looking at your Bill Buckner.

  • Cincybearcat has it.
I've watched or seen, (can't member but at least I know Beyonce is not an opera singer :P) anyway, she has great talent. but now, I've a new opinion of her. What, she's too good to error?
As for the bangs, guess we should be grateful this is all the news has to talk about.

It was a beautiful version. But. My personal preference always is at a live event, I want to hear live music. That's all, no recordings. I was sad that it was a recording...but I wasn't there anyway.
