I like Silversun Pickups, I have seen them headline and open for Foo Fighters in Milwaukee. They are good but as an opening act they kind of put the crowd to sleep until the last song.

I agree. In my opinion, Pearl Jam don't need an opening act anymore. I have no problem with that as long they play at least 2 hours and 30 minutes. Plus, I saw Soundgarden last night in Toronto and they didn't have an opening act and they didn't need one. Soundgarden themselves played for 2 hours and 30 minutes and played 28 songs from their entire catalogue.
  • The Gaslight Anthem would be great.
With Fallon on XM this week, perhaps the ball is already rolling on this one... :corn:
  • how about glen hansard solo or with any of his bands. he was great opening for ed and the two seemed to hit it off....

I kinda hope it's a band that hasn't opened for Pearl Jam already.

Just checked them out. HOLY SHIT!! They rock. I dont know the singer/guitarist but he is awesome. Plus Duff and the drummer from Screaming Trees. Wikipedia also said Mike McCready contributed on their album.

    I'd pick Gaslight Anthem.

that would be amazing, question is are they too big for this now?

No, they are not. If PJ can open for Tom Petty, then GLA can open for PJ.

opening for Pj must be something the GLA would be interested in too....that would generate great exposure to a similar fanbase, and look what it did for the Kings of Leon!!!

I would like to see, what was finally mentioned on page 4, Walking Papers. I really like that album and as someone else mentioned, they are definitely worth checking out. I got the cd from Barret Martin's web site the week before it was in stores and it's been in rotation ever since then. I believe it was cheaper through his site than many of the others out there also (So go and get it!) ;) .

Along with hoping for some mid-west tour dates from Walking Papers, I'm hoping for some mid-west dates from RNDM. They kind of skipped over us on their 1st short tour and I would really like to see them also.

Of course, if neither one of those tours happen, I would "settle" for seeing them open for Pearl Jam. :D
