I've just discovered it:

Has anyone heard of them before? It's from the album Blast Tyrant (2004). I think it's a pretty good groove metal song. What do you think?

once you get into clutch, you can't stop.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I found myself singing "You can't stop, you can't stop no, no, no!" as soon as I read this :)

Kinda surprised (but should I be?) that there isn't more love for Clutch around here.

"You can always tell the terrorist by his cologne and the watch on his wrist." One of the best lyrics ever, its from the song Power Player. Clutch kick ass.

I heard the song on an episode of The Walking Dead last year. I spent the whole night downloading ALL of Clutch's stuff and listening to it in fascination. They've become one of my favorite bands of all time in the past year, and I've found every album is great, their progression as a band really appeals to me: punk infused stoner rock to blues based riff rock. Most songs tell a great story, and Neil works in a lot of amazing visuals, historical and mythological references and incredible melody and attitude. I saw them in a club last summer and it was great.

Their new album comes out next week. There is a leaked copy of it I got this past weekend and it exceeds all of my wildest expectations. Not a filler track on it.

Take some time and really explore this band, you won't be disappointed. They are one of the great underappreciated/unmainstream bands of all time.

Oops...guess I should have read the whole thread. I guess you did get into Clutch. :)

Earth Rocker is SO good. I loved Crucial Velocity when I heard it live last summer and I didn't think there was any way another song could top that on this new disc. I was wrong. The Face is, in one word, epic. The imagery/storyline in Book, Saddle and Go as well as Oh, Isabella make me close my mind and imagine the plot. That outro riff at the end of Wolfman... is just so, so badass. Overall a 9.5/10. Just about perfect.

So, anyone here going to see them at the HOB in Chicago four weeks from tonight?

If you dig Regulator, Cypress Grove and Gravel Road have similar vibes IMO....this thread's kinda old tho, you might know the whole catalogue by now :)

I heard the song on an episode of The Walking Dead last year.............their progression as a band really appeals to me: punk infused stoner rock to blues based riff rock.
Power Player was played on season one of Sons of Anarchy, too! During a car/bike chase, if I'm not mistaken...it was at least a riding scene. Clutch is good zombie-kid killing music AND good biker music

As for their progression, it's been a great ride for sure...to be able to go from melting faces with Sepultura ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMHDvdtACsg ) to slow jams filled with organ and harmonicas, all while maintaining a distinct, instantly recognizable sound, is amazing....Most importantly, bein able to pull off all of those styles seamlessly live is what makes these guys legends to me.
Take some time and really explore this band, you won't be disappointed. They are one of the great underappreciated/unmainstream bands of all time.
THANK YOU for saying this :D I once remarked that Clutch is 'the most underrated band of all time' in front of a group of friends and now they mock me with the statement every.single.time. I bring Clutch up. fuckers. One of them is coming to his first show in a couple weeks, I will have them all converted soon enough!

There is no doubt how talented and underrated this band is.

Show just announced at the Commodore Ballroom in April. :) They are doing two nights (April 23 and 24), but switching off as the headliner with Mastodon (but each are sharing the stage both nights in some capacity). Friday night looks like Clutch's headlining night... Friday at the Commodore Ballroom with Clutch and Mastodon - whoohoo! Should be fun. :)

Awesome! Jealous you get weekend shows. The first time I ever saw Clutch was in Van, 1998, at the Starfish Room. It was the night before the PJ show at Pacific Coliseum.
We get another Sunday show in Edmonton....bah...that's two tours in a row we got stuck with a Sunday. oh well, taking Monday off, I guess. Clutch shows are not the same with out ridiculous consumption.

Shared the tour announcement on my fb profile....only took 2 or 3 replies to have someone say 'THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND EVER' :))

PS - the friend who came to his first show last time around is coming again this time....impossible not to be a fan after watching Neil preach.

Just got my tickets for Raleigh and Baltimore! Will be great to see both Clutch and Mastodon, and to see each close a show. Never seen Mastodon, very pumped about that. Will be my sixth and seventh for Clutch.
