We all know this to be TRUE - had the Sandy Hook shooting happened in a minority urban area school WE as a NATION would not be seriously talking about gun control.

So now the NRA wants to defuse the issue by injecting racism into the equation.

The issue is about .223 ammo repeatedly fired from an AR-15 into the bodies of 4, 5, 6 and 7 year old children along with adults, at the velocity of point-blank range.

If now is not the time to talk about taking some type of preventive gun control action – WHEN!!!
SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.

NRA doesn't control squat. American's control it. and when you consider that 45% of american's live in a home with a fire arm, i don't see them going away any time soon.

The NRA does have a massive amount of influence on politics though, always have.

Just because people own fire arms doesn't mean they support the NRA. Several of my coworkers own multiple guns, think the NRA is a crazy lobby group and also think that gun control is needed. Not everyone who owns guns is like the NRA, Fox News, or the extreme right wingers on this board.

Sorry, I was so annoyed when I saw this, I have to post it twice:
I was just thinking about how low the NRA is going...

There is an NRA video that injects Obama's daughters into the debate... “Are the president’s kids more important than yours?” the video asks. “Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their school?”

    How pathetic.

Makes me wonder if Obama's girls hear about this kind of thing and get scared at all. I cant believe the NRA would use them like that to try to prove a point. A terrible point too. :?

I agree Paul there really is no racism there. I do however agree that naming any child in a video is not responsible and should not be allowed.

Just another question that I have asked many times. in the 2nd amendment is states that "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.[8]" I am interested in the words "shall not be infringed." today we have laws that say who can buy guns and who can't i.e ex-cons can't legally get a gun. is that not an infringement?

Its not racism..I think Dimitris translated a little off... its about the fact that they would use Obama's children to make a point. Any person who is the president of the USA and their family will always require protection to the utmost degree. Comparing Obama's kids security needs to the average american is simply idiotic, and anyone who falls for this stupid stunt should have their heads examined.

What is wrong with universal background checks? Can anyone tell me why that is a bad thing or are people just We also had an assualt weapons ban at one time so why not go back to that? Because gun manufacturers won't sell as many weapons. As a result, their lobby group the NRA is trying to scare gun owners into thinking the gov'munt is trying to take ALL their guns away and repeal the 2nd ammendment. :fp:

You fell for the NRA propaganda huh? He is a public figure and there are people out there who hate him and want to harm him and his family. As in specifically target. Also, as someone psioted, that is the SS's job. :fp:

so using this logic, Republican are also hypocritical since they have health care provided by the government but don't want citizens to have that.

again no where does the president ever talk about banning all guns but you keep saying that.
