@BIGDaddyWil Have you contacted Anti- about a repress? It looks like they might be doing this.
No, I haven't. I really hope they do a re-press and I might give them another shot. Thanks!

This slip-cased collector's edition is accompanied by a fine-art print of the cover of Mule Variations signed and numbered by Matt Mahurin in an edition of 250 copies.
A collection of wildly
inventive portraits of musician Tom Waits, the result of a 30-year
collaboration with photographer and illustrator Matt Mahurin. This
visually arresting book is a testament to the unique collaboration,
going back three decades, between the photographer and illustrator Matt
Mahurin and the musician Tom Waits. Having shot magazine portraits,
album covers, and music videos of Waits, Mahurin was inspired to
resurrect 100 dormant film negatives as a jumping off
point to explore his own surreal, poetic, and occasionally dark
vision. The images vary from traditional portraits to ones that capture
Waits in concert—but the majority are richly imagined scenes in which
Waits is more muse than musician. In addition to
the diverse images, the book includes a foreword by Waits, an essay by
Mahurin on their longtime collaboration, and 20 original paintings,
drawings, photographs, and digital images inspired by Waits’s song
titles.

I'm wondering if Tom just can't physically play live anymore. It's strange to me that he never plays. I can understand not wanting to tour, but no playing any shows is odd. I know he doesn't need the money, but he's a musician and playing is what brings musicians joy. I hope I get to see him one last time.

In honor of Tom’s
recent 70th birthday, film journalist Leigh Singer created a video essay
looking at Waits’ many movie roles and how his music, stories and
personas connect with the offbeat character roles
he has played on stage and in film. He picks his personal top five
roles from the many Waits has taken on since first appearing with
Sylvester Stallone in Paradise Alley in 1978.
"Not every great artist is a
great performer. But whether he’s playing, among many others, the
pleading hooker sending a Christmas Card on Blue Valentine, or the
weak-willed limo driver in Robert Altman’s Short Cuts;
or simply “Tom Waits”, the supremely entertaining talk show guest or
arcane trivia-laden interviewee who rarely lets anything truly personal
slip, Tom Waits has never lost that feel for either. His performances,
on film and in music, are a key part of his
art." - Leigh Singer

It all goes something like that and much more. Thank you and have a great day, night or whatever.

I remember the first time i heard that 'dog door' song. Played at max volume repeatedly for a few days. You have to be unique to get my attention like that.
Thread inspires me to reload my cd changer...although his music may just bottom out my soul. Might have to wait for a cold nasty day...or just that boneyard one for now. The horror is so appealing. I guess I'll flip that coin.

Holding up a lamppost,
Flipping this quarter,
Trying to make up my mind.
And if it’s heads, I go to Tennessee.
Tails, I buy a drink.
If it lands on the edge,
I keep talking to you.
Saturday night, be in central.park.
Serving fish in the jailhouse tonight.
