Oscars 2013

I think they nailed the nominees in all categories this year. Only thing I wish had been nominated is Moonrise Kingdom and Wes Anderson. although it is nominated for screenplay

Leo should have won with Blood Diamond, the Oscars have been screwing him for years, he must have pissed somebody off back in the Titanic Days.
Doesn't matter. Tom Hanks was nominated for Best Actor for 3 years in a row (93-95) and won twice, back to back. Daniel Day Lewis won Best Actor in 07 for There Will Be Blood and I will be shocked if he doesn't win tonight.
I think Christolph Waltz played a great part in Django. If he doesn't win, I hope it's Alan Arkin for Argo.

Yes he did. It's an amazing film and an even more amazing performance by DDL. This will be his 3rd best Actor Oscar tonight. has any actor ever won 3 statues for Best Actor before?

i cut out a few categories that i have no idea about...and it's a toss up between lawrence and chastain...same with deniro and waltz
I think deniro is going to get it. i was less impressed with waltz. He's a great actor but i thought he was more impressive in Inglorious.
I agree with most of your predictions. I think Spielbergs getting best director though.
Its going to be Chastain, Deniro, DDL, Hathaway, Spielberg, and probably Argo. In my view though the best film of the year wasnt even nominated for best picture-and thats Moonrise Kingdom.
Id love it if Lincoln swept everything though.
Jennifer Lawrence is an amazing actress and was great in Silver Linings but i was far more blown away by Chastain.

Marlon Brando

Jack Nicholson

Spencer Tracy

“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
i picked deniro because i think he'll get it for sympathetic reason...not that it's not deserving, but once waltz wasn't on screen, django became boring so i hope he wins it
i couldn't take my eyes off of jennifer lawrence in 'slp'...chastain was great but there was more going on in 'zdt'

“Brave”
“Frankenweenie”
“ParaNorman”
“The Pirates! Band of Misfits”
“Wreck-It Ralph”
This ones down to Brave or FrankenWeenie... I say Franken gets the nod.

Anyway, I'm hoping Hugh Jackman wins, but I realise that it's not very likely.

Wow. That is an impressive group of actors.

All these were real good. I picked Wreck-It Ralph. ParaNorman was in some of my friends top 10 lists. Even Pirates! Band Of Misfits was decent. Brave was good, but I don't believe the best animated movie. Should be one the most interesting categories.
