I'll give you Afghanistan, but we spent waaaaaaay too much money in Iraq, So I say it doesnt count. Oh wait! were you talking about the war on Drugs?
I was thinking WW1 and WW2
Yeah, I know, I was just messing with usamamasan... Where's that sarcasm smiley?
And when is a war classified as a world war? How many countries have to blow things up?
We're all just human. where you are born has a lot of influence on your views, not just country, but state, province, city etc. The key is cutting through the propaganda bullshit. I am embarrassed by a lot of what the US does, but it also has a vast amount of great qualties, places etc.
.
I Really love to read your comments..you spot always the right,by using common sence and logic..
with simple words...
i agree that travelling helps alot to see both sides of the coin

I kind of gave up on this one... I didn't intend on it to be so negative....but thanks to everyone. I truly believe that having an opinion is important and thanks to everyone that has posted...
What I love about Canada is my daughter can go to school without having to worry about getting shot in the face with a gun, any type, legal or illegal.
For clarity's sake I am not comparing Canada to the USA or any other country, I'm not bitching about gun laws. I'm just saying that we (my family) feels safe.

Awesome.. Thanks for that! That was a real honest answer..

I'm honest, that's why most people hate me, some people don't like to hear the truth. And that is in all walks of life, not just around here.

I'm American and there are alot of things I like about living here. I love that my state (KY) in particular is one of the most beautiful - hiking and camping here is always an amazing experience. I also enjoy the diversity of people that I see every day in my own community and how I get to eat a crazy variety of food that I would never have thought that I would like. I like Kentucky bourbon and drinking it at the Kentucky Derby But most of all, I like that I can criticize my government and my fellow Americans all in the hope of making this country better every day.
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...
i asked that question living in a country that has no bill of rights but which to me has always been free. though free is relative isnt it?
Yes, indeed... when things are written down, it's easier to have something to fall back on.
That's my take on it
id prefer to live in a country where rights were givens rather than enshrined. i know that maybe perhaps that may lead to issues later on... but i dont see them being issues any more than what you all would face having them 'written in stone.' what i see when something isnt written down is that we arent beholden to the past.

I see that perspective and then I see it, like you said, causing problems. Have it written in stone so that we know for sure these rights are guaranteed to any and all individuals in this country. If something needs to be adapted, we can amend what was written. We've done it 27 times

oh i totally fucking know and understand that your country and mine were forged differenly and to be honest i am so very thankful for that despite the issues my people had to deal with in the formation of my country. .. but i would not trade places with you for all the tea in china.... as the saying goes... cause from where im sitting i see you all being castrated by some of those rights you all hold so dear.

And that's why some of us speak up when those rights are being violated. That's why some of us know when a police officer is overstepping his/her bounds. Some of us can tell our politicians are liars...
When you grow up in a place for 20 years, you kind of get attached to it. This is my country and it is my home... I'm not proud of a lot of the things we do, and I can understand the frustration with my country worldwide. I don't blame you for not wanting to trade with me.
