No way, not ever, cannot, WILL not, ever stay seated - especially for a Pearl Jam concert!!!! I am 45 and attribute my youthful demeanor to my daily shot of Pearl Jam - seriously damn good music can only be totally experienced when it is allowed to permeate one's every pore - stand, dance, jump - let it be the sweat that beads and rivulets down your body. Music is an amazing sensory gift - stand up and experience it - every facet, every flavor!
I'm ok with people enjoying a show as they please but it is a bummer to be asked to sit down so others can see. If you're going to be sitting then I think you should be courteous enough to leave the seats close to the stage for those of us that do want to stand.
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...
I'm approaching 57 and yes with my back injury I have had to rest on the up turned
seat. Perch I like to call it, that keeps the twinges away,
hopefully that will be as close as I get to sitting.
But if the day comes to sit so what...
I'll just be glad to be Alive listening and singing along.
52 and still rocking...5th grade teacher and still standing at every show I go to. Saw The Who in Boston recently and too many people were seated! Some songs it's okay but come on people - music is for dancing!
fiftyfuckingseven and i stand jump and dance every second possible
it was extremely difficult to sit through parts of ed's shows
18% in this topic are Greeks and all standing...PJ come back!
ahem!
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
At the Vedder shows, I was "occupying" various corners.
The ushers kept asking where my seat was.
.. so I would tell them that the people behind me didn't like it when I danced......
Then I showed them how I danced.
i'm almost 19. sitting down (or standing still) at a pearl jam concert will never be an option for me. getting into the music is what makes it 100x more amazing.

Okay, first of all, I have to chuckle at responses that say "I'm 21, and I'll never sit down!" If you were not even born when Ten was released, this thread does not apply to you. If you were in elementary school when Ten was released, this thread also does not apply to you.
Anyway: I just turned 44. I run 40-50 miles/week, and I am pretty sure I can dance circles around most of you. I'll sit down when the guys sit down.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

Why does this not apply? They have been my favorite band since I was in 7th grade... I'm a junior in college now. I've seen the band 14 times... Just because I was a baby when they started my response doesn't count? I'm just saying even though I'm just 21 and it is kind of assumed anyway, I assure you I will not be sitting. Maybe what you mean is that this thread is asking more about the older folks and how they feel about sitting? I don't know.
