Some people have realized not to fear guns.
There is nothing to fear once you know how to handle one.
To be self reliant in moments of danger, to be prepared for whatever the future brings.
Good common sense for today and well into the future.
You carry insurance right? It's the exact same thing.
But some people really need certain kinds of insurance more than others.
Same with owning a gun.
If you need one good thing you got one. If you don't that is your choice.
Dont agree with this either. The right clearly are the fear mongers. Its one of the reasons I stopped voting Republican. The gun lobbies breed the fear. Of course people that dont own a gun fear someone breaking into their home with a gun but the political fear is on the right for sure and you are right that is their choice.
Again though, this bill isnt about taking guns away. Nobody is trying to take your guns away. I dont think I have ever met one person who told me they think nobody should be able to own guns. Its not even possible in this country to get rid of them all. Its such a fallacy.0 -

Not quite sure how that response relates my statement.Forced to endure, what I cannot forgive.0 -

I'm with you Pandora...I own one for protection, I own one for the sport, I own one for a hobby, I own one for history. There are many many reasons to own them. No one is saying you MUST own one0 -
Once again, this has nothing to do with OWNING a gun. I own a gun too. I hunt. I shoot for sport. Nobody should be able to walk into a gun show and buy without having to go through the same checks as they would at a gun shop. Its ridiculous and to keep bringing up gun ownership is deflecting the issue.Forced to endure, what I cannot forgive.0

be honest now... you don't own a gun because you don't need one.
We shouldn't have to arm ourselves :? that would be nice.
If the need was their to protect yourself and family it would be the highest priority on the list.
It is for some. I hope this never happens to you.
In my area the threat is real enough to own a gun. It is a matter of self reliance,
taking care of oneself. When you see neighbors who weren't able to protect themselves
suffer, you decide I better be prepared. Good luck relying on your police who arrive after the fact.
I have a dog in fact I got twoand security system ...so did my neighbor,
it was the gun that saved his family.
Nothing is being forced on anyone... it is all about choice.
Please explain how my opinion is biased? Please explain how you know me and my views.
Do I need a gun? Not really. Would it be nice? Hell yeah. Its always nice to have any type of protection. I plan to buy a Mosin-Nagant sometime soon. (Only like $90 and comes with cleaning stuff and a few other things! My bro bought one a year and a half ago. He moved, so sadly I wasn't able to go shoot his. :( )
I don't get how you think you know what everyone needs and how you know if people are afraid or not. That is why I called you ignorant. You have no idea what other peoples' lives are like, so you cannot say the things you said.Post edited by Guitar92player on~Carter~

Have you bought from a gun show? I have. There was the same background check at the gun show then I got in the gun shop. It's the wheeling and dealing in the parking lot that doesn't have background checks, and that will not stop.0 -

My friend bought a pistol from a gun show. No questions asked.
I know many do background checks, like the one you went to, but not all of them do.~Carter~

Each state is different I guess. I'm in PA. They have a strong background check system from what I understand.0

Have not. I know there are some responsible gun dealers and some that are not. I believe it varies from state to state as well. That is another problem. There needs to be uniform Federal laws.Forced to endure, what I cannot forgive.0 -

I never said I know what everyone needs... I knew you didn't need one though
And how do anti gun people assume people own guns out of fear? Its the same thing.
Assume they are afraid of the big bad government... dumb shit.
It is about a personal choice of being prepared for present danger and that which could occur in the future.
Its a different personality is all. One who is self reliant and prepared. Just like carrying
the right insurance in one's own personal life. So simple.0 -

so everyone who does NOT carry a gun in your opinion is:

b) not prepared
