Whooooaaaa just listening to The Defector pod. Kalyn Kahler just said both Eagles writers are leaving The Athletic. Damn. Sounds like I am giving up this sub.
Are you FUCKING kidding? I was planning on signing up for it again tonight actually. Is this for real? It wasn't mentioned on the most recent pod
Check out The Distraction pod, about 4/5 minutes in she says both Eagles reporters are willingly leaving. I could see them going the Bodner route with their schtick.
Damn. Just listened. Seems like she shouldn't have said that and let Zach and Bo announce for themselves. But this sucks. Guess I am not going back.

Haha, oh yeah, for sure she screwed up. But there's losers out there like me whose ears perk up with this knowledge. Also probably why they're not answering my tweet!

Then he puts this in his new nonsensical article: "Eventually, everything, maybe everyone, outstays its welcome."

Love the BWF pod. I have to think the Eagles are a big money maker for them, and with the direction The Athletic is going fingers crossed maybe they start a local version of The Athletic (like it was originally planned to be) with Bodner/Hoffman on Sixers, Gelb on Phils.

EDIT - funny feeling they make an announcement on the pod today:

And Charlie O'Connor for the Flyers, who will be relevant in the 2026-27 season.

Kyle Neubeck left the Philly Voice recently too. He's another quality Sixers writer. If all these guys join together for something like that--I'm definitely in. I'd imagine it would happen soon too...timing is so strange with the season a few days away.

I just purchased the Sunday Ticket a few minutes ago. Cannot wait to take that for a spin on Sunday.

lollllll....man, I bought this for YTTV a few weeks ago while very intoxicated at 2AM and thought it was a no-brainer of a decision. I, on the other hand, highly regret this decision.

I paid $300+ (and RedZone) to maybe watch the Eagles game every week. I am an idiot. I do look forward to - or at least wish to - take the multiview for a spin.

  • I just don't see how you beat Red Zone. Especially this year with hardly any Eagles 1:00 games. That 3:30-4:25 stretch is always crazy. And then you get your TD Montage before SNF. Hey ma look, another Hurts QB sneak.

You can watch 4 games at a time with the ticket though. So instead of depending on redzone to get you to the game you want, you control that yourself. Even with redzone, I find myself getting frustrated that they don't cut to the game I have money on. Now I can do that myself.

The only thing that kind of bugs me is I was envisioning having the game I am currently watching bigger, in the middle of the screen with the other games minimized on the sides of the screen or at  the bottom. From what I've seen, it's basically a 4 box thing with the boxes all equal size and you can choose which one you want the volume too.

I am gonna miss Scott Hanson's craziness in the witching hour, though, Johnny. HOWEVER....I think I actually might still be paying for redzone separately with the sports package it came with because I still have all those weird sports channels I never watch. There's too many ala carte stuff nowadays! lol

  • Biggest beef I have with multiview/pip on YTTV is you can't control that stuff. You have to go with what they give you. When PlayStation had their YTTV version that was the absolute best feature they had. You could pick and change the size.

Watch today's BWF pod at some point. It's hilarious and awkward.

Sounds like they're going to formally announce everything next week.

    Hansen. 😂

Anyway. This will be very disappointing but my tv isn’t big enough to watch 4 games at once.

It was a weird game to start out and I feel like the nfl really hosed us with this dumbass schedule. Probably was something to do with Rodgers and the Jets. But last year it was a scary win over Detroit to start and it went well for a while after that.

Just one of the reasons I don't bet

First quarter they looked good (especially the defense). And i honestly thought they were probably gonna lose at the end. Glad they squeaked by.

We've talked about it before but not playing any starters, for the most part, during the preseason usually leads to sloppy early season football. I really think the players need those reps. This seems to happen every year since most teams stopped playing guys in the summer.

Ugly game...just like last year. I am a bit concerned with the LB and safety play. But hopefully we bounce on Thursday just like last year.

  • Yeah I weirdly feel like a quick turnaround here is actually a good thing? I mean outside of the injuries to Dean and Cox.

Aside from Blankenship, who I can't believe actually looks like a real player, the safety and LB thing is looking very concerning.

It's early, so trying not to jump on anything...yet. The offense doesn't concern me at all at this point. But the edge rushes not getting there enough and giving up the middle yards is bothering me at the moment.

Agreed on all counts. They had a Thursday home opener last year too. Same scenario. Couple days after Pearl Jam, if I'm not mistaken (I was both incredibly hung over and dealing with covid at the time--rough week).

Coupled with the fact that it's against Kirk Cousins. Could be a bloodbath.

This is where I get in trouble. Reality should tell me otherwise but anytime I get confident(arrogant) playing against Kirk I eat shit. But, yes, let's hope it plays out like last year did.
  • Kirk threw for like 350 yards this week. Don't know how they scored so few points. I'd be shocked if Slay shut down Jefferson anywhere near the way he did last year.

Yeah on that last drive I was hardly confident they would stop Mac Jones & co. Honestly we just got lucky the guy couldn't get 2' in.

Does anyone know why Penny was inactive? Also let's try Sydney Brown out there on D - how much worse could he be?

  • Juggs I was thinking about our Red Zone convo Sunday as I watched the Titans and Saints kick FG's in the "red zone" for 3 hours. At least we had the Titans' kicker on our fantasy team. LOL
