Horrible officiating and they abandoned the run. Rough night for the Champs.

I can't believe as defending champs the season is essentially over on Dec 9th.  We just can't do prosperity in this town.
    Tough times in Title Town?
    This weekend we rock Portland

That undrafted rookie was a big part of why they won their last three games (none of which were blowouts). 30 yards in his first 3 carries....4 more carries for the rest of the game. Unacceptable.

45 minutes to 22 minutes in time of possession. Way too many 3 and outs. Defense was totally gassed (on top of being undermanned, obviously) in OT.

You're going to have to be lucky to win games playing like that.
they averaged 2.4 yards per running play.

and of the 34 yards they had rushing 24 came on one play.  so take that play out and they had NEGATIVE yards per their other 13 rushes.

    7 yards per pass play

    over 10 yards per completion.

yup more of those 2.4 yard plays was what was needed.

His first rush was 8 yards. Then he lost two. Then he had a 24 yard run. Then four more carries for the rest of the game....while they were going 3 and out mostly till the fourth quarter. Unacceptable.

The recipe for winning games this year and last year, when they won the super bowl, has been a balanced offense. This cannot be disputed.

last year they had 2 good+  professional caliber backs.  this year their lead back is an undrafted rookie who will be lucky to be in the league in 2-3 years. BIG difference.   this cannot be disputed.

Well... you said the same stuff last year and every other year. Suddenly now you're okay running more if you have better personnel? This directly contradicts everything you've ever said about this which started, by the way, when they had the best RB in football at the time and a sub par qb in Mike Vick.

Also in all of their wins this year (no blowouts), they’ve had a balanced attack, despite the personnel. The kid's averaging 5 yards a carry this year. And who cares if he was un drafted? He's been effected when used.

You gotta keep the defense guessing and you gotta give your own defense some rest. Not rocket science.

    1) no you don't you to keep the defense guessing - that's bullshit. how come when every team in the league runs a 2 minute offense they go right down the field and usually end up with a scoring chance? every defense knows you are throwing and every team moves the ball down the field.  like UFOs is this unexplainable?

    2) agree, but with DBs who are off the practice squad against a good team you aren't scoring enough running the ball especially averaging 2.4 yards per carry.  how can you justify running more plays that averaged 2.4 yards per play?  Only in the NFL do media and fans want to run plays that fail.

    3) get the ball to your best players. not your 45th best player. damn right it's not rocket science.  only in the NFL would you want to design plays for below average players in your biggest game.

and in closing there are reasons guys are undrafted.  Adams is average.  he owns no above average NFL skill whatsoever.  if he is still getting rushes in the next year or two this team is in worse shape than we think.

Since the Giants haven't started looking for a QB yet, I hope it's not a decade but we shall see.

1-As Cliff said, PREVENT DEFENSE...dummy. Football 101. You again have shown that you are ill equipped to have this discussion.
2-Adams is averaging 5 yards per carry for the season. Stop cherry picking small sample sizes. The kid has had success this year when they've used him. And he had success early yesterday and then they didn't go back to him until the 3rd quarter.
3-Agreed. But as yesterday and in every other loss this year shows, not having a semblance of balance is a recipe for losing football. 22 minutes time possession is unacceptable. And again, worth noting that when you began this dumb argument a decade ago, their best player was a running back.....yet you still wanted them to throw it 80% of the time with Mike Vick. --So this contradicts the very origin of your argument.

in 15 games played so far this week in the NFL there have been scores in the last 2 minutes of the 1st half in 12 of those games .  80% for you non-math majors.  One other game had a blocked field goal.  so 13 out of 15 had quality scoring opportunities. or 86.7% for you non-math majors.  and what do you teams mostly do in the last few minutes of the half? well of course they pass the ball, shockingly.  But it's prevent defense causing this.  You guys blame it on the defenses. I say it's just impossible to stop the pass in today's NFL which it pretty much is. If it is just the defenses then you must think defensive coordinators around the league are pretty fucking stupid.

oh and nice job keep bringing up one post from almost a decade ago.  move on already. I'd hate to have to have to bring up your ridiculous Chip Kelly (he's revolutionizing the game!)  and Andy Reid posts (another 10+ win season by the way).

The guy doesn't understand why offenses have success against prevent defenses. This is a grown man. I just....I can't. Making the same dumb argument, every year since 2009. Unreal.
