we have been talking about "attending" or "being part of" the process. I am involved in the process to see the truth and take the media out of the picture. Me growing up a liberal Democrat has alot to do with it. It proves that I wasnt raised from a conservative ideology, it shows that I imput myself into it from learning facts, and applying common sense to fiscal matters. It shows that I was empathetic to those who are poor cause i grew up poor. It shows that I am a legitimate and valiant opinion here on the train and my stance is one with merit. Thats why it matters. I can relate to both sides!

It's all well and good to say that you learn from facts and all that, and yet I have read some horrible posts about Islam and the like from you that would suggest to me otherwise.

With respect to my comments about Liberals/conservatives, I really don't care what colors someone wants to paint themselves in, it doesn't give someone any more creedence with me. If someone says something I disagree with, I'll call them on it.

Good I like that in you! I am fiscally conservative and socially liberal! I consider myself a common sense conservative whom is more libertarian as our govt. continues to waste and drive us off a cliff!

So I can expect evidence that the Tea Party in its current iteration began under President Bush, that it was not a knee-jerk panic reaction by a largely white segment of the GOP base to the election of this country's first black President?
your words have a secret agenda there....notice it? Any movement takes time to materialize in "its current iteration". The Tea Party began as an idea under Bush as a response to TARP! Got it yet? Or is this pill too hard to swallow? It began about the same time Hillary Clinton created the BIRTHER MOVEMENT! Got it?

My agenda is actually not very secret here. I don't believe you and would like to see some evidence presented to backup your claims. Got it?

The government without a doubt needs to cut spending, which I think is the OP's point. I'm not really sure how anyone can argue that fact. I also think that tax hikes are needed. All this talk about the tea party and race is just a distraction and dividing us from what needs to be done - spending cuts and entitlement reform. The problem is that members of congress do not want to make the tough decisions (because they just want to be reelected) and the American people don't want to make any sacrifices.

I wholeheartedly agree that both tax hikes and spending cuts are needed to fix this mess. Maybe that was the original point of the thread, maybe not, but it went in a different direction when the OP posted:
I have a great feeling that if the Tea Party heightened with a white president, it would have taken much more of a stronghold in our political system! I dont see any issues with the Tea Party Platform itself! The media has ruined it! Its a shame!

That brought us into the discussion of race and its role in the formation of the Tea Party.
