Sweet story about Eddie...

I read this on tumblr and thought I'd share it here for you all :) :
Eddie Vedder is the human of the year
A friend of mine works as a lifeguard at a really fancy hotel in Manhattan, and a few days ago he saw Eddie Vedder at the gym. He was staying at the hotel because he was going to be at the 12-12-12 Sandy relief concert. My friend told me that the first time he saw Eddie at the gym, he approached him and they talked for twenty minutes or so. I suppose they talked about how my friend is trying to get a record deal. The next day, Eddie greeted my friend after his workout and even remembered his name. He went on about an 8-track he used to use back in the day when he was trying to get his music heard and encouraged my friend to get the same one. Then Eddie pulls out an envelope, hands it to my friend, and says “merry christmas.” When he opens it he finds a handwritten letter by Eddie and $600 in it. Eddie told him to use that money to buy the 8-track. If you didn’t love Eddie Vedder before reading this, now you have a reason to.

The person who posted this on tumblr didn't feel comfortable with posting the contents of the letter, so that is why you can't see the letter clearly.

    Just when you thought a great man like Ed has given so so much he goes even further. I take it this is the only place you will hear about as Ed has never brought attention to the amazing things he has done. Which is how he would want it to be & why we love him so much. He definately deserves more plaudits than he gets but if we are the lucky ones to see it that is ok. One of the great humanitarians of our time :clap::clap:

    The guy is almost too good to be true.

    It's stories like that that prove he is as much a class act as ever, and there are surely countless such tales that we never hear about.

    :lol::lol::lol: I'd hope he went out and got the 8-track Ed told him to. Imagine if Ed gets wind of the famed note, pick and $$$, he'd be so disgusted he may never make a gesture like that again! I guess he could still frame the note and pick :mrgreen:
