President Obama should set an example

The President, vice-President, all of Congress should lead by example and declare gun free zones around themselves.

The President is protected by armed men with full auto weapons for the rest of his life, he should show us how it can be done.

    maybe if guns were not so readily available some leader might be willing to set an example like that. but in today's current world, with anyone able to get a gun and walk up and shoot someone, i do not see it happening...

    reagan got shot with security detail. lincoln got shot with a security guard, kennedy got shot with a bunch of security guards, the pope got shot, etc... security is not always the appropriate answer, but asking the president of the united states to forgo security detail is about as out there as someone who wants to shoot the president.

    What are the numbers on how many of those murders were gun murders? My guess: a large majority. And what are the stats on how many of those guns were illegal? My guess: not as many as you think. If you can provide those numbers, you might have an argument, but no one on the "gun control sucks" side of things can ever seem to do that...

    Well, if there was a gun ban I'd say it would be safe to assume that the guns were obtained illegally. Odds would be on your side.

    No, I'm not seriously suggesting the President or poor little Malia have to suffer through life unarmed and unable to defend themselves or have someone provide it for them. I'd just ask for the same Right, that I already have, not to be taken away from me. Anything else is hypocrisy.
