i think there is a glitch in teh forum software keeping some people from making a change.
either that, or i am a complete idiot. should not be this difficult.
Agree that it must be a software glich. However I am not ruling out the fact that I may also be an idiot as I have no idea how to resize the photo I want to use. I've been trying now off and on for weeks. Should not be this difficult.

It seems like some users have much more difficulty than others. I certainly struggled with this a few times, it wasn't until I devoted a bit of time to this the other night that it actually took.
I'm not really sure what made the difference, but this is basically what I did (similar to others on the first couples pages)
1. Logged off of pj.com
2. Closed google chrome (it's what I'm using these days)
3. Opened new google chome browser, cleared entire history including cookies
4. Logged back on to pj.com
5. Access account info under My Account, then profile, then select jpeg file, upload image, then clicked on "To update your forum profile, please click here."
6. Log back off of pj.com, close browser, restart PC
7. Re-open chrome, log back onto pj.com, posted on this thread and was shocked by my success.
