Is it just me, or is everyone else waiting for the following post to appear?
"Ed embarrassed me in front of my brother who drove up for the show. I was the "drunk" who yelled out Let's go Patriots during the quiet song with no mics or amps, so sue me! How rude of them to stop the song just to tell me "fuck you." I'd had a few beers, and I thought Sleepless Nights was the best time of the night to drum up some support for my team! Then they stop just to tell me fuck you. The behavior during Sleepless Nights was repellent, but "the crowd" was not "very noisy." It's not like 2,000 people were talking during the song.
There were 3 hoots and a few shouts about the Patriots from about 3 drunk, loud men. Some of the crowd was "shushing" them. One woman shouted "Shut the f up!" and got mild applause. Eddie gave some jerk the finger and got huuuuge applause -- which also interrupted the song again (oops).
It was obnoxious, but don't blame the whole crowd.
People act a fool when they're drunk. It's simple math. Maybe there should be less booze available. I'd love to for once go to a concert where drunk jerks weren't babbling thru the show.
Speaking of drinks, when did Ed switch from wine to Kool Aid?
PS Eddie was INCREDIBLE! And Porch was amaaaaazing!!!!0 -

Holy crap, amazing. I had really hoped to hear man of the hour, around the bend, or throw your arms around me, and what a great opener for a surprise!
Long nights was the real treasure though.. Live it sounds very big.
The "go patriots" thing was despicable.. Ed's face showed honest horror.. Generally I thought the overall crowd was ver good.. Two girls next to my wife were very annoying with their phones the whole show.. They were on Facebook the whole time and their phones were bright. Please people, enjoy the moment and don't just try to impress you Facebook friends.
Amazing show all together, It was more than I expected. Eds voice was really on fire tonight. Don't know how he's going to outdo himself tomorrow!
Yeah what's up with the kool aid? HahaPick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0 -
I ran up to the stage for Unthought Known to get away from all the freakin RUDE drunks that were EVERYWHERE. This is why I HATE south Florida and love North Florida....
However...the look of joy on Eds face was priceless...the crowd may have been drunk, rude, fights almost breaking out, endless chat, everyone on their dam cell phone BUT Ed loved the energy and love from the crowd. So kudos to Ft Lauderdale...2009 Philly Spectrum 10/28

I was glad to be here...didn't like all the talking and cell phones....
Great energy though and it was awesome to be able to get as close to the stage as I got...
Even though the crowd seemed unruly at times, Eddie and Glen held it together as usual with awesome performance! :corn:New Orleans 00/Seattle 02/New Orleans, Houston, Dallas 03/

Hmm, someone remind me why PJ doesn't play the South? Or the U.S.? Remind me again why they prefer to play Europe so much more than the U.S.? Oh yeah, because even a small, intimate largely acoustic show is packed with loud, drunk, entitled douchebags. Almost every fanview of this tour has had these stories. How embarrassing. So glad I wasn't at these shows. Hopefully I'll catch Ed in Europe sometime. Doubt that he'll continue to do this type of thing in the U.S. Why bother? WTF is wrong with the average American? I went to both Orlando shows and will be at both Ft Lauderdale shows.
1. Don't let a few assholes ruin the night for you. Each show had their douchebags. Granted I don't remember anyone yelling something stupid DURING the song.
2. Last night's venue was amazing. Orlando's is a dump, but in all fairness they are supposed to get a new one.
3. The crowd was odd last night. Very quiet early on. The crowd didn't seem to know when to stand, etc... During Porch a few of us stood and the people behind us were asking us to sit. Really?
4. Rocking in the Free World had so much energy. The site of the crowd with the lights on was magical.
5. I met the man last night (see pic). Super nice guy with an amazing memory. He was sharing memories with each person backstage, remembering events that happened years ago like it was yesterday. Here's to starting a new one with me.

I have seen Pearl Jam 25 times in my life but not since 2006. I wasn't supposed to be able to attend the show last night because of money, just hard times and not able to afford much of anything outside of necessities which will happen in a down economy and having 3 kids. But my sister owed me money and wanted to get us tickets to celebrate our 10 year anniversary which was on Thursday. My wife has seen PJ 11 times since we got married and was disappointed when we realized we couldn't go to the show. So I took my wife to the show without ever telling her where we were going until she saw the flashing street sign at the venue flash "Eddie Vedder." She has seen Pearl Jam 11 times. One of the very few songs I nor her have heard was our wedding song.
Wouldn't you know Ed opened with Throw Your Arms Around Me. So I surprised my wife and Ed surprised us! Great show, and with the exception of a couple of idiots, it was a great crowd too.
Thank you Ed!0 -
Two words: Chan Marshall
The night was absolutely amazing, but Chan was the highlight of my decade! I absolutely adore her to pieces and I already had the suspicion she would be there tonight cause she tweeted earlier yesterday but somewhat cryptic so wasn't holding my breath and when she came out I didn't know what to do with myself, I felt like screaming, jumping and crying all at the same time.
What a wonderful night!!"Without the album covers, where do you clean your pot?" - EV0 -
Awesome, awesome show. Of course there will always be idiots but I thought Ed handled the situation very well. Highlights for me were Throw Your Arms Around Me, I Am Mine, Rockin In the Free World, and Can't Hide Your Love Away. I'm really hoping for Man of the Hour and Lukin to tonight. After the show we got to hang with some cool people after the show at a bar a couple blocks down for an hour or so and then went back to the bus. Ed came out around 1am. He would sign anything or take any pictures, but I got to shake his hand and thank him. It was awesome. Can't wait for night two tonight. Glen was incredible too. Big fan of his, so last night was just incredible.www.RLMcDaniel.com

If we thought the crowd was bad last night, wait til tonight....non fan club show means more tickets available for the "big event" South Florida crowd. You know- the ones that will be texting throughout and taking pictures and yelling "Evenflow". Can't wait.
Having said that, it was still an awesome show. Ed was great as usual.
One last thing about the crowd. A lot of the fault at all the shows lies with the venue's security/ushers.
Last weekend in Jacksonville, those ushers were there as soon as someone took out their phone telling them to put it away. Last night, the ushers didn't say a word to anyone that was taking pictures, texting, facebooking (new word!), etc...0 -

I was very disappointed at the lack of crack down on phones being brought out (and held up I may add) and the amount of people taking pictures, the flashes were very annoying.Post edited by Mrs.Vedder78 on"Without the album covers, where do you clean your pot?" - EV0 -

Great show last nite!
I think I enjoyed Tuesday nites show a little bit more but Cat Power coming on stage was an added treat last nite..Theres never any disappointment in any of Eds shows..
The venue experience was much better than Bob Carr in Orlando tuesday where I had the mashed potato guy in the row behind me ..along with all the other distractions....
This venue didn't let people bring aluminum bottles into the show which was a lot better than all the clanging I heard at BC....I am still amazed and disgusted with the way people acted at both shows..with no respect for
Ed, the performer or the people around them. Last nite I had a girl in front of me checking her email during the whole show..but not nearly as many people getting up thru out the show like at BC..
I don't know..maybe its me and I'm just getting old ..lol
Going to try and make tonites show too..Its hard knowing he's in town and not going to see him..0 -
