Nov 12, 2012
Show 1
01. Brain Damage-(Waters)
02. Sometimes
03. Can’t Keep
04. Sleeping By Myself
05. Goodbye
(Ed greets the audience. He says it is really great to be in Houston and he will gladly tell the rest of the guys in the band how great it is here. He notes that Pearl Jam has played in Texas 15 times. He says he remembers playing the clubs Unicorn and The Vatican over and over but doesn’t remember the State Fair.)
06. Without You
(Ed recalls the first song he wrote on the Ukulele. He found the ukulele in a drug store and was sitting outside the store waiting for a friend. He was strumming the ukulele when some passersby gave him some change. He thought, “there might be something to this thing..” He also talks about the song a little bit and a “Porno For Pyros” lyric that covers some of the same topic)
07. Soon Forget
08. I Am Mine
(Ed-“This next song is really quite good and very powerful, It is by Chan Marshall also known as Cat Power. It is about, well it is about what would have happened if the woman in ‘Better Man’ had done the right thing.”)
09. Good Woman-(Chan Marshall)
10. Millworker-(Taylor)
11. Setting Forth
12. Guaranteed
(someone in the audience shouts something I couldn’t make out but Ed responds “Don’t fuck with that guy, that is Dr. George Webb, and not only is he master at handling all of these instruments he also invented anthrax.” Ed says if you don’t like mandolin music this might be a good time to go to the bathroom.” He notes how long the rows are in the theater. (the span the entire floor with no aisles). He thanks the audience for keeping the shouting and the camera flashes to a minimum. “I am an old pro and it doesn’t bother me so much but it lets the rest of the audience enjoy the show.”
13. Rise
(Ed invites Glen Hansard out. He compliments Glen’s set and talks about how blown away he was by Glen’s guest singer Moji (sp). “The song after this gets happier but this one...well, it has hope in it. And that is important. If something good comes along grab it because it doesn’t happen too often.”)
14. Long Nights
(a guy in the audience shouts “Where’s your wine Ed?”. Ed says, “well, you know, I quit drinking and I quit smoking....I mean I just made this decision at about 4 pm so we will see how it goes..” He then talks about while it may look easy, it is difficult to concentrate and remember all these songs and he would feel terrible if the people that paid to come to the shows just got drunk and exhausted Eddie. He talks about his wife and the upcoming song as well as a little three year old girl named Eileen, who listens to Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder when she goes to bed at night. The next song is for Eileen)
15. Picture In A Frame-(Brennan, Waits)
(Ed-”This song isn’t on the list but this is as close as I get to Lubbock and when I first really started paying attention and trying to learn guitar I listened to a lot of Buddy Holly)
16. Everyday-(Buddy Holly, Norman Petty)
(Ed says he has a nephew here tonight that has never seen him play so he asks the audience to sing along with him so he can impress his nephew. He then messes up the song halfway through and as he tries to get back on track he softly sings “oh, Uncle Ed..”)
17. Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town
18. Porch
Encore Break 1
(Ed is back on stage and says, “we have a lot of time left but I feel pretty good. I feel like I could just stop and have a drink. Then I was just talking to someone back stage and they said you played Lubbock on Oct 18, 2000. That is why I gotta quit drinking so I remember stuff like this.” Ed also mentions that he has a sister living here in Houston that he loves very much and wants to play this song for her.)
19. Just Breathe
20. Immortality
(Ed says he is sometimes asked what is his favorite country to play? “Texas!, nah I’m just kidding..” A woman in the audience shouts Pittsburgh, Ed asks her why and more people begin to shout things. He gets them to quiet down by saying, “I think she is going to say something positive about Pittsburgh so let her talk, I really want to hear this.” She asks “isn’t George from Pittsburgh?” (referring to Ed’s tech). Ed responds, “You mean Dr. George Webb? I thought you were gonna say something positive about Pittsburgh? Oh great, now all the guitars will be out of tune and there will be anthrax on the picks. Now go have another drink on me.” He says “it isn’t the topography or the buildings it is the people that makes the place. One place that has great people is Ireland and to show what I mean let’s get Glen Hansard out here again.”)
21. Society w/ Glen Hansard-(Hannan)
22. Sleepless Nights w/ Glen Hansard-(Bryant, Bryant)
23. Falling Slowly w/ Glen Hansard-(Hansard, Irglová)
(Before “Immortality” a person had shouted out “Love Boat Captain”. Ed strummed the chords a few times and said, “interesting. maybe later.” Now he picks up the guitar and tries to play it. He struggles a bit and asks the audience to pick a representative and give him the first line. Once that is accomplished he plays the song)

Great show
there all better
Biggest FML moment of my life. I've been a 10C member for about 12 years, and seen PJ/EV about 15 times. Never had great seats through 10C – good, but not great. Anyway, for this show I could only get single tickets. I gave my one extra ticket, FREE, to a girl I work with at the last minute. She wasn't really a fan and didn't know many PJ or EV songs, but she likes live music, so she went. My seats were in upper balcony, and hers was too, in the back of the balcony. A staff member comes up before the show and upgrades her ticket to the FRONT EFFING ROW. And there she was, sitting front row for the show. Un-believable.
Should I be pissed? I think so. But I also understand that I probably would not have been upgraded if I had been sitting where she was. Ladies get that kind of stuff, not a 43 year old guy. So I didn't say anything. After all, I work with this girl. Ultimately, it doesn't matter, I was still there and the music was excellent.
I'm going again tomorrow night, so hopefully I'll get decent 10C seats. FML.
hope to see some 10c members at hard rock on tue night for preshow festivities, and get 'drive all night' w/hansard.
p.s. my 10c seats were row u, balcony, not bad.

Chad, I normally let anyone say whatever they want, but I have to make this VERY clear to you (nobody may care, but I do), since you are referring to something I said on the air today, I’m not assuming you are calling me the “local DJ on the stupid radio”, I feel pretty confident since you quoted what I said.
Yes, I work for the local radio station, NO, I did not keep the tickets we got for give aways, I’ve NEVER taken a free ticket from Pearl Jam, Ten Club or the record labels when it comes to seeing the band or Eddie, every single show I’ve been to, I’ve paid for my tickets, I don’t know why that’s so important to me, but it really is, I have no qualms about giving any member of PJ my money, for some reason, the (for the lack of a better term) integrity of paying means more to me than getting something for free.
Today, I wanted to let everyone (who listens) know and make them aware to be cautious about buying printed tickets on Craigslist and eBay due to there being a lot of fake tickets out there, simply passing along the message I saw on this website, does that make me stupid? I’m ok if that fits your definition of stupid.
If you want to be pissed, look in the mirror and be pissed at that guy for not buying tickets, I watched and sat amongst a few thousand happy people who bought tickets tonight, we got a few pairs of tickets to give away at the station, but not that many, and the ones we received, were given away.
Tomorrow night will make the 6th show I’ve seen on this tour, every single ticket, hotel room and airline ticket were paid for by me, yes.. I’m a dumb-dumb stupid fan who saves money to make these shows possible for me, but I also never exploit my position at the radio station to get anything from PJ, 10C or EV. Call me whatever you like on a personal level, but please don’t question my integrity as a fan, or accuse me of stealing tickets, I don’t know you, and I know you do not know me, as a PJ fan, I’m sure we’d get along just fine and probably have a lot in common, but making some b.s. up to make yourself feel better is my definition of stupid. Hate the radio station I work for, hate the media, hate me as the stupid DJ, but know that when it comes to being a fan, I am as far beyond 100% as most of us on this forum are.
I agree on scalpers, I hate them more than anyone, with the number of shows the station are involved with, I see what they do and cannot stand it, I’ve said it a million times.. “If people stop buying tickets from scalpers, and they start to lose money…the scalpers will go away”, sure you’ll have to sit out some great shows, but at least you could revel in their misery on losing money on tickets they bought with the intention of raping fans wallets.
Anyway, I had to get that off my chest, even if nobody reads it, or cares about it, I had to say it, don’t give up, there are tickets available from some great 10 Club members, hopefully you’ll snag one and we can have a beer Tuesday night.
That being said, tonight sounded amazing, I’m not sure if it was the room, but both Ed and Glen (and Moji sp) sounded great.

OUCH!!
Great experience overall...will never forget it!
Can't wait til all the guys return together!! It's been too long!
Show was wonderful and enjoyed it much.
Was great following how Ed’s mind works as he attempted to pull lyrics from LBC out of his noggin. Good someone assisted in cueing him up.
Was on the wings so sometimes seemed as though we were missing some of the sound, but overall pretty good. The crowd was pretty respectful with typical inconsiderate people shouting during quiet times and humans that can’t seem to let go of their pacifiers (mobile phones). The sing alongs failed miserably, very few people knew the words, HOPE this doesn’t affect Ed’s message to the “fellas” to come down to Houston.
Ed went on at 9 pm. Seems to be pretty consistent on tour.
10c seats were pretty good - Orchestra Row K left side (looking at stage). Have seen Pearl Jam 10 times but this was my first Eddie solo show and it exceeded my expectations. There's just something about him and his guitar. Setlist was awesome - LOVE Immortality so that was a treat!!! Can't wait until tonight!

"Pearl Jam for the Impassioned Fan"
He started at around 9, but I saw the production sheet in the elevator and it said he was supposed to start at 8:40. PJ typically starts at 8:50, so I would not be shocked if he starts before 9 tonight.
I am also fearful he was testing houston and we failed. Not to mention, it seems like many people left before the second encore.
Hey, they were good shows! That's awesome! You got me beat on Alpine Valley. I am still kicking myself for not going to that.
Highlights for me: sometimes, the end, Arc, Good woman, (cat Power), Immortality, LBC, and all the great stories Ed Told.

I heard he mentioned before playing Everyday in Houston that he had been to a place called Okoboji IA years ago and then corrected himself and said it was Clear Lake IA where Buddys plane crashed.
Appreciate any info anyone can share on this!
Eddie's voice sounded amazing. Glen Hansard got everyone in the mood with some soulful, beautiful music. I thought the crowd was pretty well behaved. I think some people get so on edge expecting the cat calls, song requests and random screams of I LOVE YOU EDDDIIEEEEE that they forget to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! Of course, I was lucky enough not to have any idiots sitting next to me, so the occasional yells did not bother me. There was a lady who yelled, "Eddie- play at my wedding next week!!" And he shrugged and "sure" Much crowd hooting and clapping and more yelling...and he just sorta shrugs while things quiet down, and then the same lady yells, in a slightly softer voice "I'm sorry!" It was actually really sweet. Genuine laugh from Eddie, who them replies, "that's ok" and then explains that he will not actually be able to make it, but proceeds to dedicate the next song to the almost newly weds. Love it.
Anyway, I lucked out with AWESOME 10 Club seats- orchestra, row F, slightly left of center stage. Made the wait and trip from NOLA well worth it! Had a casual Pearl Jam fan come with me, and about 3 songs in, she turns to me in awe and says, "He sounds AMAZING."
Oh happy feelings! The post concert depression hasn't set in yet. Still high from the greatest 4 hours in my recent history. Thank you Eddie and Ten Club!!!!!
