I actually give props to billy..yea he can be a deushbag but he does it his way and dont give a fuck..Still puts out decent music...Mellon Collie better double than The Wall...Chicagos very own..
I think no he seems to give a big fuck myself. That's why he's always trash talking the people he's jealous of. But anyway, yeah, Mellon Collie is an amazing album... it's just priced in a really insane way. I just won't buy it at that price, as much as I want the album. It pisses me off that they have made it that expensive, and I'm surprised people are willing to spend that much on it.

How much do you think the Box Set should be?

Wait, box set? It just said it was an LP on amazon.ca. If it's a box set that's different. Although not anymore - just looked again and now it's $95. Wtf amazon? Pick a price and stick to it!

  • Just bought the Aeroplane Flies High deluxe reissue. Combined this with my super duper 6 disc MCIS set on my iPod. Have my next 8 workouts worth of music sorted!

  • The whole MCIS era is quite possibly one of the most prolific musical periods by any band in the 90s. Took serious balls for Corgan to release 5 MCIS singles and to include 4-5 other songs to each single.

This is really funny, because now, 3 years later, I think $66 for that album seems fairly reasonable, given that I spend over $100 CAD on each PJ Vault. I did end up buying it at some point between then and now, and looking up the order, I see that I finally bought it for $56 CAD on Amazon.ca. I guess I needed it to be $10 less to find it reasonable, haha. Well, good for me. My thrifty attitude about vinyl 3 years ago saved me $10. :triumph:

  • The stuff from the Aeroplane deluxe set fits so seamlessly into the MCIS deluxe stuff. The Double Door rehearsals and 30 minute 'Silverfuck' are worth it alone.

:lol:image Embarrassing! Maybe I thought it was just a 2-disc thing? I don't think I would have been whining like that if I'd known what it actually was, which is a really beautiful boxset.

    I'll let it slide

  • Listening to the evolution of the song 'Ugly' from the MCIS set through the AFH set has been awesome. Another reason I love these sets.

  • Also the live disc is amazing! Somgs cut from the 96' tour. Saw them on that tour and still one of the best shows I've ever seen.

The price makes me wish my local libraries would consider adding vinyl records. I love this album but I'm not paying shitloads of money for it in the near future.

$69 shipped and sealed on Discogs.
Worth every penny and an excellent price.

  • I've listened to this record a lot in the last few weeks, I remember buying it, and seeing them a couple of times on the tour - definite contender for best record of the 90's, so many memories wrapped up in these songs......the opening few seconds of Thirty-Three absolutely destroy me, the very definition of nostalgia for me.

Woah!!! 30 minute Silverfuck version!?! What is this exactly?!?

Agreed. One of my top 3 songs off that entire set.

I'm gonna have to revisit this album. I was never a big fan.. to me it had a couple decent songs and a buuuuuunch of filler. Maybe now I'm a little bit older, I might appreciate it more. I won't hold my breath, though.
Muzzle was my favorite track back in the day.

the live version they did on the MCIS tour was a spacey jam that was routinely 20-30 minutes.

It was awesome in the day, but looking back, I would have preferred 5-6 more songs.

That's his best song in terms of songwriting. One of those songs I wish I had written.

    The song "Bodies" killed too.
