Y'all, I just have to vent here for a minute. I was sitting by the king douchebag of the world last night. He was drunk and whooping and shouting jibberish constantly in the middle of verses and just the entire time. In fact he was the one who prompted EV to stop and say the thing about this is like coming to a nice restaurant where you let the chef bring you a great meal. Right before that the douche was shouting "play something heavy" repeatedly. EV called him out and said something about the disembodied male voice that kept shouting. This was right around Just Breathe and Long Road. Anyway, on top of that, he kept leaving (crawling over me) in between every few songs to get more beer, and the ushers kept crawling over me to tell him to sit down and shut up. Finally, a large burly guy came up and talked to him for a minute and I think threatened him with violence. I was grateful because he started being quiet at that point, sometime during the first encore.

I wasn't planning to go Sunday night because of the cost and having to get a babysitter, etc. But my husband thinks I should just get a single ticket and go since this jerk tainted a night I've been waiting for now for almost a year.

Nevertheless, the highlights for me were Man of the Hour, Unthought Known, Long Road, Guaranteed, Society and Falling Slowly with Glen, and Yellow Ledbetter just to name a few.

If you are talking about the guy wearing the white "I love Eddie Vedder" shirt, I feel REAL sorry for you, that guy was the WORST, especially when he shouted out for Free Bird 3 or 4 times, what a tool....

I was sitting about 2 rows behind him and was sick of his crap!

HAH! No, mine was a different dbag. I did see the guy in the white t-shirt all night, though, because he was several rows in front of us. I think he was actually showing off his muscles and pointing to his biceps once when the audience lights came on.

    I'm going back tonight - CAN'T WAIT!!!
  • Thanks for posting the set list....was trying to figure out Good Woman. My wife started crying on that one...
Hell of a show that left me with great memories.

And thanks 10C for the tickets.
  • must have been a lot of us from Ten Club in the same general area, because Loud Guy was also a few rows in front of me, and Zimbabwe girl a couple of rows behind me. It was a great evening, starting with a blistering set by Glen Hansard. Really different from the Long Beach 2011 show, which was more Ukulele Songs oriented. Loved the set list, the duets with Hansard, the beautiful starfield backdrop with smoky campfire, and especially Porch, Society and Falling Slowly (a transcendent moment).

Both artists are so generous, bringing locals out on stage (Glen's friend Amanda, and Yellow Ledbetter guy) to share the spotlight. Loved watching the sign language interpreters, which added another level of emotional depth to the performance... hadn't seen that at a rock show before, and Eddie certainly seemed bemused by it, too. He handled the crowd so smoothly and maintained his cool... it was my friend's first EV/PJ show, and she left a converted woman..!

You think that woman who kept yelling "Stand up" to Eddie, was actually requesting "Rise" but she got the name wrong..??
