Gerald Ford was in office when I was born. Bill Clinton was the first Presidential vote I ever cast in 1996. Muy votes since then:
1996: Clinton
2000: Nader
2004: Kerry
2008: Obama
2012: Obama
My votes:
1996: Dole (mostly because I liked Jack Kemp and really didn't respect Clinton as a person)
2000: GW
2004: GW (I did so for a few reasons, one of which was some privatizing of social security. I didn't get it and this is the vote I most regret).
2008: Obama (wanted hope and change Really wanted to shake things up, didn't really get it)
2012: Romney (honestly, I was fairly undecided until late. Tough to balance economy and some other things (obamacare, gay marriage, etc.) and again, I also didn;t want to vote for any incumbent)
I haven't really gotten what I hoped for from any president I've ever voted for. Funny enough, perhaps Obama has given me the most though it's pretty small. Anyhow, I really hope that the GOP removes it's collective head from it's ass and gives people a better option going forward.
if every politician was fired for having an affair there would be none left...
Honestly it has to do with the circumstances...oh, and of course perjury.
If that affair involves an intern or someone that works directly for you, its worse. Because it's also about power. Although, affairs as a whole tell you abut character, they wouldn;t necessarily be means for removal, other than threw the normal election process.

I agree that his character came into question but I guess what I'm saying is other presidents have done a lot more shady things then have an affair and less of a fuss was made.
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you
Sha la la la i'm in love with a jersey girl
I love you forever and forever

Lying under oath is a big deal and should be taken seriously. But in Clinton's case, given how partisan that prosecution was (Whitewater becomes Monica?) I really do have a hard time holding it against him. Still love the guy.
I see that brianlux and I are the resident old folks. I've always felt fortunate that I turned 18 in 1972, the first election after the voting age was lowered from 21.
My votes:
1972 McGovern
1976 Carter (hadn't forgiven Ford for pardoning Nixon. I did later and if I could do it again, I'd vote for Ford.)
1980 Anderson (I hated Reagan and was fed up with Carter. John Anderson made a lot of sense.)
1984 Mondale (Did I mention I hated Reagan?)
1988 Dukakis (He was goofy but I wasn't going with anybody associated with Reagan)
1992 Clinton
1996 Clinton (I liked a lot of things about Dole though)
2000 Gore (I live in the state where Bush was governor for 8 years. I tried to tell you people!)
2004 Kerry
2008 Obama (reluctantly, I thought he was inexperienced. I liked McCain, couldn't handle Palin)
2012 Obama (reluctantly, still not very impressed, just couldn't stomach Romney)
While I see a pattern here, I haven't ALWAYS selected the losing candidate.
1984-Reagan
1988-Bush Sr.
1992-Bush Sr.
1996-Dole was not the greatest, but really had hope for Kemp. Elizabeth Dole would have been a better candidate.
2000-Bush Jr. Despite my serious environmental leanings, just can't buy into Gore
2004-Nader-Had enough of Bush and Kerry wasn't the man, seriously
2008-Obama-Real tight to the end. I thought Biden was an uninspired choice for veep and a deal breaker.....then the world was introduced to Palin. That was all she wrote....
2012-Obama. Still disappointed in his BP response and the inaction on environmental issues by his cabinet, but Mitt & Paul gave me nightmares.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.

I would have to say Obama has been my favorite so far. Hope he doesn't come to Atlanta
