Ever been to a walmart? There is a special place in hell for the people that work there.

Honestly, I don;t really have a problem with it. My wife and I disagree about this type of thing often. Black Friday can be family time too.
Did you just say my wife is going to hell?

Nah, there isn't a hell, no worries!!!!

How does she put up with working there and the really weird customers? I hate going there.

  • Nothing is sacred anymore. Not even a national holiday.

A truly disgusting example of greed and intimidation by Wal-Mart towards their employees.

In 2011 six members of the Walton family have the same net worth as the bottom 30% of American families combined.

I never have gotten the whole "Black Friday" thing.
    I just dont get it.
Doesnt look like something I would enjoy.

Actually it looks like nothing but torture!

A store has 10 TV's marked down half price.
So 3,485 people line up in front of the store, waiting for the doors to open Friday at 3am.
Just so they can all run into that store, and beat the living hell out of each other, and walk away with one of those 10 TV's.

    Wait a second..
Black Friday might be one hell of a good time!

I avoid Walmart altogether because it feels like this ^^^ on normal days there. Black friday is like the human version of the Running of the Bulls. Saved $50 by camping all night and fighting to get shit you dont need? ...you couldnt pay me enough to go through that.

If I worked at Walmart, and they told me I had no choice but to work Thanksgiving Day...
I might have to tell the Boss to go to Hell.

Walmart is now going to be open Thanksgiving Day?
    Seriously?
They cant wait till Friday to start the Holiday Shopping?
Why the fuck would they ruin their employees Thanksgiving Day by opening?

    I dont know...

I know in dirty jersey it opened at I think at 8 ON THANKSGIVING.
Yep - 8pm. And I really hope no one gets trampled this year. It's seriously out of control when people die because of a holiday sale.

Back when I worked for Wal-Mart as a cashier, I had to wear a tie. Imagine the outrage today!

I think they are probably paying the employees extra for working that day, but it is 8PM that night. If that time was so special, why will there probably be large crowds there shopping that night?

I don't think this is a big deal.

I think there is some difference no? Black Friday shopping is one thing that I would never want to do, but some people love shopping, or black friday shopping is a "tradition" that friends or families do together. That's different than having to work a six hour shift and deal with ignorant and rude shoppers.

I read that I heard somehere on the interwebs or the televisions that only the Al Qaeda makes people work on Thanksgiving.

Have any Walmart employees complained about having to work this particular evening? Are they forcing particular employees to come in, or is it voluntary? Some employees without family or maybe who don't enjoy the holidays may not have a problem with this.

We literally live next door so it's a short walk. I go there often.

I've told her many times that all Wal-Mart employees are retarded. ;)

I feel bad for the employees. But the reason(s)? 1) Jobs are scarce enough that the employees maybe can't refuse the shift on Thanksgiving and still keep their job, and 2) supply and demand -Wal-Mart does it because they've done complex statistical analysis to determine that the money they'll make by opening at this particular time is worth it, and 3) because they can.

It is not something I'd want to be a part of. I love Thanksgiving. My and my kids spend the day cooking and enjoying the day. I don't think I've ever gone shopping on black friday. I'm not much of a shopper

Walmart's greedy corporate practices and selling cheap shit from China are two reasons for me to never shop there.

I feel sorry for the employees, and in general I don't get the whole black friday shopping frenzy insanity. I hope shoppers stay home and walmart doesn't pull this crap on its employees next year
