Republicans would do well to distance from this guy.

Ted Nugent On Obama Election: 'Pimps Whores & Welfare Brats' Voted For 'Economic & Spiritual Suicide'

Ted Nugent On Election Obama Win Twitter Rant

Detroit rocker and right-winger Ted Nugent was not too happy when President Barack Obama was reelected, so he took to Twitter to denounce the "pimps," "whores" and "welfare brats" who voted for America's "economic [and] spiritual suicide."

Nugent tweeted some choice words on Wednesday after Obama earned four more years in the White House in a landslide victory over GOP candidate Mitt Romney. He bid America "Goodluk" [sic] and good riddance.

  • My Republican friends get pissed at me when I say "Republicans are a bunch of jerks, racists, assholes, homophobes, douche bags, liars, zealots and morons.... bankrolled by plutocrats and rich snobs."

And I always tell them "buddy....you're soaking in it. If you don't want me to tell you that you stink... get out of the cesspool."

The Republicans I know would like to distance themselves from the turds in that cesspool but they're not sure how to do that. Their party has aligned itself with crackpots (and that's putting it nicely) on the far right and "old white men" as (I think it was) Bob Schieffer put it. I don't think we'll ever have a one party system- there are advantages to having more than one voice. FDR assembled his cabinet with a variety of voices because he saw value in hearing differing sides of issues in formulating policy. I'm guessing there's a lot of head scratching going on within their ranks right now.

    It's an interesting read, anyway.

They don't really seem to know what to make of it.

    1. The professional assholes like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter are incoherently babbling. Ann Coulter - who only two weeks ago called the president a "retard" and when called on that said "screw them" to anyone who didn't like it - yesterday had a big pity session with Sean Hanity where they lamented the "viscous and ugly and mean" attacks coming from democrats.

    2. The ones who are smart enough to see that the real issue is that the president simply appeals to more people than a snobby rich white jerk like Mitt Romney AND that the electorate are more aware of the issues than they had been before. Mitt Romney ran his campaign like it was 1975. Where news ran one way... they don't understand Twitter. They don't understand Facebook. They don't understand how to make a good meme on Tumblr. They keep trying to find a "reason" other than "we ran an outdated campaign with outdated ideas to a new generation of voters who knew we were lying to them."

    3. The actual party leader are already taking positions. Mitch McConnell knows his time is done and he'll retire in shame.

    4. John Boner has started to say things like "Obamacare is the law of the land... there are things we don't like about it we might try to change." Which is what most of us liberals have been saying for two years. It's not perfect but it's the best start we've had... let's keep retooling it until it's right.

  • Oh... and Karl Rove... he's screwed. He took about half a billion dollars from the richest people in America and for their troubles they elected a shirtless lunatic in Michigan and one senator in Nevada. They lost every other race they tried to influence.

    And apparently... they are PISSED.

"Livid" is the word being thrown around.

Karl Rove... aside from that he'll never be taken seriously again or even work again (not that he has to), might want to leave the country. And not come back.

The people who really hate him... they really hate him.

i would say the views of nugent are much more prevalent amongst republican voters than most would like to admit ...

can we not agree the party has been hijacked and that the moderate critical thinking voice has been silenced by a radical hard right slant!? ...

as a conservative at heart - are you not disenfranchised with this party?

Yes, it has been hijacked, and the leaders let it be.

    Yes, I'm disenfranchised.

but it's not like they have to go far and wide to find them ... basically - all your major fox news pundits, trump, nugent, etc... they are just echoing a mentality that is prevalent amongst many people ...

Seriously, Godfather? Don't you feel disenfranchised by people like Nugent, Limbaugh, Beck, et al.? Does it not occur to you that these people have all but destroyed the credibility of your party? Letting these guys have so much voice in your party would be like inviting termites to live in a guitar case. I'm not trying to be facetious here. I'm trying to make a case for Republicans needing to clean house.

Its not the media. Stop blaming the media for the far right's hijacking of the party. The lame stream media or the liberal media bias is a myth perpertrated by the neo-cons as a disinformation/psy-ops campaign to plant the seeds of doubt (see Karl Rove).

The highest daily circulating newspaper in the US is the WSJ, hardly liberal:

    http://accessabc.wordpress.com/2012/05/ ... arch-2012/

The highest ranked television news and business reporting, consistently, is Fox:

    http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/category/ratings

The highest ranking in most media markets on AM radio is:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mo ... o_programs

Add in all the small town and medium sized cities local newspapers owned by out of state corporations that slant or lean conservative and you get a consistent message of conservative thought and opinion. If you didn't hear about or see any moderate conservatives in the press, blame the folks at Fox, et. al.

So, its not the medium, it's the message. And I remember the lame stream media reporting extensively on why moderate republicans were resigning from congress or not running. Olympia Snow did an in depth interview regarding her decision not to run again. Lincoln Chafee came right out and stated that the republican party had lost its bearings and he couldn't be a part of it anymore.

The republicans need to take their party back from the far right/tea partiers, come back to the middle and expand their appeal. America needs them to. However, I don't believe they will if only because there are too many within the party who privately think like Ted Nugent does. And that will lose them a generation.

    Peace.

Interesting that you give so much credit or power to one individual and even blame. I would argue that we're still simmering in the maggot cream soup created by the republicans and their supporters via the supreme court, Citizens United, and the no compromise tea partiers in congress. Does congress not share any blame for the past four years? Harry Reid faced an unprecedented number of fillibusters:

    http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/refere ... Counts.htm

I also don't think the last 4 years have been a disaster, anywhere near as bad as the previous 8. What will you say when in fact things are better in 4 more years? It was the republicans in congress? Rumors have it that Obama is proposing a 4 trillion dollar deficit reduction. Will republicans raise taxes on the wealthiest 1% to pitch in? Aren't we all in this together?

You can't solely blame Obama Godfather.

    Peace.

Where did I blame them for that?

And media bias is not a myth. Fox News, MSNBC, and the increasing trend for OP Ed shows rather than news...it;s all about opinions and bias.

Sorry if I misunderstood the last sentance of your post that I replied to and I'm sorry that I still haven't figured out how to quote just a portion of someone's post. But that was what I was responding to. Again, my apologies if I misunderstood it. And I stand by my point that there is a larger conservative bias in the media than a liberal one. I would also argue that the bias on the conservative side is more detrimental as its a bias or lack of facts as well as opinion where as the liberal bias is more on the opinion side of things. I have seen numerous apologies and corrections in liberal media over the years when they reported something false or misleading. Conservative media repeats it ad nauseum hoping the public will believe it as fact or truth and even when called on it, won't correct it. And there in lies a huge problem with our discourse. If we can't even agree on the "facts" or the numbers or the substance behind the underlying problem or issue, how will we ever begin to sovle the pressing issues facing our country.

And for the record, I have and will vote for a republican when they take positions that I can agree with. But this current crop is really so far out there that I would leave that section of my ballot blank if neither candidate appealed.

    Peace.

I can respect that. It's very understandable. I have hope for the future, but then again, after 2008 I thought the GOP would have already moved there. It's too bad they don;t actually listen to the Huntsmans, Jeb Bushs, etc....

Yeah... we voted out all 9 of the "rape isn't such a bad thing and that slut probably wanted it since she got pregnant" crowd.

We voted FOR marriage equality FOUR times. PLUS we did NOT vote out the judge in Iowa and the New York State Senator who voted for it, no matter how much money NOM pissed away to do it.

We voted in a record number of women, a record number of GLBT candidates, voted out virtually ALL the Tea Brewers and Karl Rove just might have to go into hiding after wasting nearly half a billion dollars with nothing to show for it.

We voted for raising taxes to deal with the California budget crisis and gave the finger to the Ayn Rand people who said people are inherently selfish.

The President was he better candidate, he wanted to take the country where the country wanted to go. That's why he won.

the problem is republicans have thrived on the people we are ostracizing ... the reality is if you look at the party's position on issues such as the environment, war, middle east ... etc... they are radical extreme positions that requires a certain level of ignorance and indoctrination to maintain ... you can't have an anti-science party thrive unless your political base is willing to accept that position ... and that's what we have ... the number of people who were birthers or don't believe in global warming in the republican ranks is ridiculously high ...

so in the end - you cultivate a population base so you can move forward a corporate agenda but then you become handcuffed when you realize that base will keep you out of power ...

edit: like how to you move to a guy like huntsman (who believes in global warming) after you've spent the last decade or so perpetrating lies and indoctrinating your base?

They need a special leader that transforms the party rather than the party transforming whoever they select to be the leader.

It'll happen. Don't know when, but it'll happen. And the GOP will dominate elections again. The GOP gave you the EPA after all. And all it takes is that 1 special person to turn it all around. It'll be interesting to see if that person exists now (Jeb, Rubio, Huntsman, Christie, ...) or if the GOP will wait another decade or 2.

ya ... i was talking in a thread a while back how conservatives used to be champions of the environment ... and how it really shouldn't be a partisan issue ... but the GOP have done just that ... they've spent all their time indoctrinating people and dumbing them ... hence your choice of candidates included bachmann and cain and perry and stantorum and all these other dufuses ...

good luck with now trying to reverse the bs ...

what a tired old argument "he touched a nerve". Come on man. He's a celebrity. People are going to talk about the shit he says. it's that simple.

second, just a few days ago, you were all "let's all band together, no matter who wins, to make the country better". Now you are MOCKING those who voted for Obama and HOPING he fails (which, by extension, you mean you want the US to sink deeper) to prove some kind of a point? Is that really what you want?

I'd argue that's not a very American value to project.

The right would do very well if they denounced this kind of nonsense.

as for obama...2 years into his first term people on here said they wished they hadn't voted for him...so why do you all think he's going to do a better job this time ? I stand by my choice I made 4 years ago and this time his actions will be worse...he's got re-elected and nothing now to lose I think he will be a bad choice this time as well.
