Yep. In PA...they ask you for it even though you don't actually have to show them. :?

In Texas you show your voter registration card. Only have to show photo ID if you forget your voter card.

They passed a law requiring photo ID but aren't enforcing it since similar ones have been declared unconstitutional. Knowing our state government, it will be appealed all the way to the Supremes.

nope, not in the same catagory......voting is way more important.

seriously tho, what is stopping me from going to every polling station and voting with somebody else's name.

I fine and jail time from what I have read. I think the idea is that if you force people to have to get and pay for ID's to vote, it is going to fuck over the voting results a lot more than a very small amount of people actually trying to vote twice without ID. Especially since the few people who would risk jail time to vote twice probably wouldn't really have that big an effect on the results. Read the final item here:

The numberof people committing fraud to vote more than once without ID is pretty tiny (10 people according to the article). The amount of people who wouldn't be able to vote if you forced everyone to get ID's is somewhere in the millions.

Nope. I told them my name, they asked what street, my name was on some printout and that was it.

Not as interesting as the fight I almost saw in Starbucks this morning with a guy sitting at a table with his laptop facing out for people to see with his screen saying VOTE TODAY! FOR MITT ROMNEY! And I guess it was an issue cause when I was there he was yelling (like an asshole) at the barista who told him he couldn't do that. I guess cause it's a private business? As I left the guy was screaming, "Go ahead, call the cops on me! Call the cops!"

I rarely get carded for alcohol because I have a big beard, but when I do get carded, people look at the ID funny because I look so different. Then I tell them its a fake and they laugh and hand it back to me and sell me my jug of rum. I cant wait to tell them at the polls that its a fake. If they take me seriously, i'll tell them I was talking about the beard.

considering what a low percentage of American's actually vote i find it hard to believe that 'millions' less wouldn't vote because of ID laws.

    Your high moral character?

I just think there's other ways around voter fraud if that what showing ID is supposed to eliminate.

i may have high morals, but not everyone does.

thump prints? retina scans? implanted id?

ID's at no cost would be cheaper, but until that's an option, needing an ID to vote shouldn't be on the table.
