And if the comedian you are referring to is who I am thinking of he's also used stereotypes of his own race in his act.

yes, he does. I'm not sure how that makes a difference.

I'm still kind of surprised at this, as I've never seen it. I live in the Canadian Prairies, where Native Americans are the race of choice for bigots. If a white comedian in Winnipeg went up and made a joke about Native people, that guy wouldn't make it out of that club alive.

Like I said really doesn't bother me if I'm stereotyped...I laugh myself.

The Chris Rock bit posted is not racisist...stereotyping maybe/yes.

Fail to see how NA Indians became part of this discussion.

I've never seen him as racist myself...and if people want to pay too see him then he must be doing something right...and his audience seems to be varied racially.

    Funny stuff

Comedians can be politically incorrect and funny and it's fine, as long as it's smart. Louis CK is a master at this, as was George Carlin. They need to push the boundaries, that's what makes them funny.

Louis on how awesome it is to be white

pretty clear. I was drawing a parallel between where I live and the racism there and the bit that Chris Rock did.

Chris talks honestly about race relations and makes fun of everyone.....makes one laugh at oneself. Very observant and smart dude.

Been to 3 live shows and the crowds bout 50% white and 50% minority laugh together.....great thing. Chris "Rocks"

Did I find this funny? Yup.

Just wondering how many people here would find it funny if a white comedian had done it?

original. everyone knows that it's socially acceptable for black comedians to make fun of white people. it's the way it is. black people never had white slaves. so they get a pass on the comedy thing.

Exactly they were the one's in chains so this type of comedy doesn't bother me at all me being a spick i'm friends with a few whitee's ...

Comedy shouldn't be PC - or shouldn't have to be, to be appreciated.

I like comedians who cross the line, but are still funny...give me both and I don't give a shit about their race. In fact, funny itself is good enough at times - think Bill Cosby.

Chris Rock runs hot and cold for me; seems sometimes he tries too hard.

(by the way, Daniel Tosh makes fun of everyone, mercilessly. Love him.)
