  • I knew it!

This must come as a relief to some voters. What I mean to say is that it must be horrible for someone suffering from racial bias: which has the effect of disrupting or blocking logical thought patterns- rendering them with ill-conceived ideas and beliefs which sometimes lead them to making very poor decisions.

Now that both candidates are 'even' at their core... this message delivered by Chris Rock will have the effect similar to... say... a cloud moving away from the sun. Biased voters- able to see clearly now- will no longer be burdened by their affliction and the choice for them becomes so much more obvious and easier.

yes I know but his comedy is always a race thing and if a white person reversed his comedy to a black roll it would be racism,no offense to you I just don't like the guy...never have.

Sometimes I like Chris Rock, sometimes I don't. His comedy can be kind of edgy.
I like satire so I thought this was funny.

Did I find this funny? Yup.

Just wondering how many people here would find it funny if a white comedian had done it?

Yes, the meaning of a message can change depending on who is saying it, especially in comedy. That issue comes up about once a month in here and goes around and around with the same people not really able to understand that.

original. everyone knows that it's socially acceptable for black comedians to make fun of white people. it's the way it is. black people never had white slaves. so they get a pass on the comedy thing.

And with attitudes like that there can never be true equality. I think you should actually read what you posted...quite racist I would say.

there isn't equality now.. comedians of all races make fun of other races. there is nothing off limits when it comes to comedy.

I never had a slave, neither did my parents, Grand Parents and Great Grand Parents. Where does it say since white people had slaves once that black people can walk all over white people. Pure bullshit here.

I never really saw any rascism in the video...just saw it as humorous. Of course I never look at every word or statement being said as potential rascism.

no, I never said that. I saw an Indian comedian, he's a Canadian, and his WHOLE routine was racist. But for some reason it was ok. It would NEVER be ok for a white guy to do it. That's just the social climate we live in. I'm just getting tired of people saying "would you laugh if a white guy was saying this about a black guy". Obviously not, because whites have never really been an oppressed minority, so it's not really funny.

no, it's not bullshit. have you seen a black comic? have you seen any black comic NOT make at least one comment on a white guy's behaviour, therefore, stereotyping white people in general? Hey, I laugh my ass off, but you can't tell me there isn't a double standard when it comes to this. And can you give me the reason why it's socially acceptable?

No, I didn't mince my words with my original response. Because I'm tired of hearing "what if a white guy said this". it's bullshit.

I've never seen a white comic say anything about any race, to my recollection. Usually they joke about ethnicities like Irish drunks and sometimes frugal Jewish people. But that's about as far as it goes.

Like I said really didn't see much wrong...buts that's just me I'm not really the type who looks for stereotypes, or racial comments no matter who says...they are just words.

So being a racist comedian is ok if at one time you're ancestors may have been oppressed?

And if the comedian you are referring to is who I am thinking of he's also used stereotypes of his own race in his act.

And I have seen white comedians use stereotypes of other races...guess what? People in the crowd of that particular race laugh. I've seen comedians bring up stereotypes of woman, and the woman laugh...it's just comedy, just words, I think most people just accept as that...it's called laughing at ourselves.

To answer the question, is it OK if a white guy says it is it OK? I don't know...I know it's done...too me as long as its not racial slurs, as a white guy stereotype away.

I agree with you. My comment was to the OP who asked "would it be ok if a white guy did this?". I've seen white guys make comments about women, yes, but I've never seen white guys say shit about any other race. Except something as vanilla (but still hilarious) when Jerry Seinfeld said:

"you know what I like about Chinese people...they're really sticking with the chopsticks. you know they've seen the fork. Hello? Shovel? They aren't clearing the fields with a couple of pool cues".

I'm still kind of surprised at this, as I've never seen it. I live in the Canadian Prairies, where Native Americans are the race of choice for bigots. If a white comedian in Winnipeg went up and made a joke about Native people, that guy wouldn't make it out of that club alive.
