Visually beautiful. The end got me though. It left me irritated, dammit.

And you can’t go wrong with the actors, at all.

    I'm a village defender.

It was genius that it was completely marketed as a monster movie, a slasher horror movie with scary monsters, which leaves a lot of the old timey colonial stuff and the ending completely disappointing to a lot of people expecting something else.  That was the correct way to do it.

I think it's a great work.  I love the story.  Love the ending too.

People also love to poop on shyamalan just because.  They put everything up against the surprise in the sixth sense and always over-guess the ending and have unrealistic expectations.

I haven't liked one of his films yet, but I haven't seen all of them either. Peeps tell me I'd dig Unbreakable.

I did enjoy the TV series he had a few years back, Whispering Pines, but I think he had to adhere to some source material for that one.

But yeah lot of good ones. I have a few friends who host "First Friday Fright night in Phoenixville, PA. They show some good classic ones like Popcorn, Pumpkinhead, Poltergeist, The Warriors, Nightmare on Elm Street 3 & 4, Vampire Circus, From Dusk Til Dawn, My Bloody Valentine, Silent Night Deadly Night. This past month was Halloween III :D an d next month, Nov. 2 is Return Of The Living Dead (which I don't believe I've seen).

This January is not really a horror film per say, well I guess it can be considered one. Anyway they are showing both Grindhouse movies in their entirity.

February is Candyman (which I don't believe I have seen  )

Tonight they played Candyman in 35mm print  Pretty decent. Couple "jumping" scenes. Actually the one girl behind me jumped like 10 times  The urban legend was kinda cool, and his gimmick was ok.

    remake coming out this summer

Actually it was a sequel, saw it tonight. Pretty good I thought. Also during the previews they had a trailer for the new Halloween movie (which I had no idea they were even doing one again)

It looks like that study really emphasized jump-scares, which is a pet peeve of mine when over-done as a crutch in horror movies, and even dubbing in the artificial high-pitched 'violin screech' noise to make you jump more.

OK, you are right.  No reason to be mean about it --- I can amend to just say that it is kind of startling to look at what she has done with her plastic surgery.
