But Im waiting to hear Isles fans weigh in
you'll be waiting a long time
oh wait metsy is a fan ....i think thats it
only holds 14,500 for hockey
that's it?
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.
This is good for hockey.
"Congratulations Brooklyn, you have the Islanders.... oh but we have no plans to play ANYTIME soon"
I was just thinking the same thing...will it be Brooklyn Islanders or Brooklyn ........
I hope they go with the name Brooklyn at least.
But only 14 500, if they ever start winning again...those tickets will be hard to come by.

You cant hold that against their fans. They have been plagued by almost 20 years of the worst ownership and management in sports. I know quite a few huge NYI fans that havent been to a game for years because its just futile.
If they had a decent owner, and made good hockey decisions, people would go to games.
The Dolans allowed the Nets so not surprising.
I concur this is great for hockey, should they resume the game

As a Brooklynite, however, this is exciting. An NHL team in Brooklyn? I'll take it!
And who knows? After getting completely screwed over by Madison Square Garden (fucking Dolans!), which sold my long-standing 300-level season tickets out from under me last season -- and that was AFTER having held onto my deposit for five months and then taking their sweet time in refunding it -- I might take my business elsewhere when it comes to watching live hockey.

I went to a ton of games as a kid in the 90's. My dad had season tickets for 6 seasons in 00's and had to give them up caused they cost to much. I haven't gone to game in 3 years cause of ownership and really don't have a desire to. As long as Wang owns this team it will go nowhere. I'm both happy and sad bout the move.
The arena was a small problem but the real problem has been ownership. Players aren't gonna play for a dunce
of an owner regardless of a new arena. Joe Lewis Arena is old and dump, but players play there cause of a stable ownership whose committed to winning.
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
This is a good move for a few years and if the team doesnt win then this will be a bad move and they will average even less than the 13k from last year.
Have you looked at their roster? Holy shit, they were lucky to pull 13k last year, they are awful.
I love the Joe.
my favorite hockey arena hands down, and i hate the wings.
Yea... enough to stuff all their fans down and wash them into lake michigan with the rest of the turds... :P
grrr... wings fans... I wonder how many of you will dissappear when the team has a losing season again... I swear I didn't know a single wings fan before the 96-97 season... and now I can't beat them off with a stick...
what a long goodbye out on hempstead tpke.
:corn:
now if theyd only play

No lower bowl( ice level ) seats behind 1 goal.
Will be the worst arena for hockey with the worst possible sight lines.
