I didn't the first time around but I will certainly will vote for him this time. Especially with so much hate out there towards the President like this person whom we know so well for the rediculous things she says....
Ann Coulter Calls Obama a *Retard*.

What will she do or say if he gets re-elected? I could see her head explode.

Yeah... I guess if Rush Limbaugh's head explodes and Sean Hannity's face melts off... it would be kind of sad.

I lost much respect for Coulter with that comment.

But, I popped my head in this thread to say that after coming off a recent high of his show, I wish to hell that Bill Cosby was in the running.

I'd vote for Rocky Anderson (Justice Party candidate) if he had a shot at winning, but since barely anyone even knows who he is, I'll go with Barack Obama again. Elizabeth Warren for the US Senate.

Do media/news-outlet endorsements influence or make a difference in how any of you choose to vote?

  • Not that I rely on newspaper endorsements to make my decision, and I typically don't read the editorials of any newspaper, but I think the NYT made a pretty good argument in this one:

I will be mulling over choices for local elections probably right up until the end.

the senate needs someone like Kurt Bills.

I will be voting NO on our ridiculous marriage amendment.

I have changed my stance on the voter ID law a few times and probably will again. I like the idea of the amendment, just worried a bit about its implementation.

More than likely, I will be voting for Gary Johnson for president. Ron Paul would get a write in if he were eligible for it in Minnesota, but I am having trouble finding out if he is. I want my vote to count. Regardless of whether my candidate wins or not.

While I realize the pragmatic solution to voting is the lesser of two evils approach, I think politics would be slightly less divisive if people weren't simply against a candidate but for another. Makes me think that people would have discussions about positions of their candidate rather than trying to tear apart another candidate.

    Either way

I just found out that Rupert is running for governor in Indiana. This is fucking awesome.

I haven't been this excited to vote since I punched a ticket for The Governator.

For me, voting for state and local officials can be a tough choice. I don't watch a lot of TV but have been the last few days due to recent storm events and having the time to do so due a prolonged illness. All (and I mean ALL) of the local ads that I've seen on television put out politicians running for state and local positions have focused on why NOT to vote for their opponent, not WHY vote for themselves. Based on this information alone I would have very little knowledge about the person for whom I was voting. Fortunately, our state provides printed and on-line voter information that includes candidate statements that are more helpful. But if voting is largely influenced by television, I don't see how anyone can make a logical choice. It's craziness.

Well, I've finally decided that I'm choosing the lesser of the evils ... I'm voting libertarian straight down the line.

Both Republicans and Democrats are leading us towards financial ruin. This is the first time I actually feel good about going to vote. I was considering skipping altogether, but maybe a 3rd party can have a chance if enough people see the numbers rise for them.

Considering that only 10% of Americans approve of Congress, maybe those of you that are choosing the lesser of evils should take some consideration of this option.

Good for you- truly- for sticking to your convictions, even knowing the man has zero chance of winning.

I mailed in my vote- for Obama. I think if I had been an undecided voter (hard to imagine in this case) but if, just if I were, I would question the wisdom of voting on someone who seems much less qualified to lead the country in times of distress. Could there be someone out there more qualified than Obama to do that? Possibly. Would Romeny be? Now way.

    Voted.

Big props the The Franklin County Board of Elections here in Ohio. Very well organized. Smooth process. Showed up yesterday and was concerned by the number of people I saw waiting in line. Went very very quickly considering I estimated about at least 500 people in line when I got there.

How is it that you were able to vote early without an absentee ballot? Do some state have early voting? Just curious.

I was debating between Obama (again) and Jill Stein but have finally decided on Stein. Obama disappointed me on his weak stance on education, GMOs, and the environment, among other issues. I feel he is pandering to the middle trying to get those middle of the road voters when I want him to be further to the left. I understand why people here are voting for him and maybe I would as well if I lived in a blue or swing state. However, being in KY, we don't apportion our electoral votes (which, by the way, should be changed but good luck with that), my vote for anyone other than the republican is a throw away vote every single time. So I decided to vote my conscience instead of the lesser of two evils. Tuesday should be interesting to say the least!
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

yes early voting. Its what amounts to in person absentee. We filled out the same absentee request card but voted on a machine. the same as is used on election day. At the same time , some folks had to vote provisional if their info didnt match up with the board of elections.
