Romney wins debate!

Romney was smart, smooth, focused, patient and presidential. He never interrupted and the president insulted his intelligence a few times and it was very noticable. Romney also won 2 fact checkers so far.....
He was resilient and diligant! Obama on numerous occassions attacked instead of defending his policies, when in fact he should have explained his vision. Obama has not explained his vision for the next 4 years at all. He also has not explained his failed 4 years. No humility on the part of Obama whatsoever! I think Romney took it in stride and won over more women and independents tonight!
He was smiling and comfortable and the President did not look relaxed at all!

romney came of as amateur. he did not justify giving the military $2 trillion dollars more that they are not asking for.
and...
how can romney win a debate when he took the same positions as obama on so many different issues???
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
Romney was calm, cool, collective and is presidential! The president's answers are very questionable , his choosing of attacks...and such...are very non-presidential!

exactly. I said that exact thing in Brian's 270 minutes of silence thread. I was also surprised at how many times Romney stated that "the progress we have been making is good" and "we're heading in the right direction". He might as well have just said "Barry's getting my vote!".

..President Barack Obama portrayed rival Gov. Mitt Romney as "all over the map" and inexperienced on key national security issues in the third and final debate of the presidential election Monday night in Boca Raton, Fla.
"I know you haven't been in a position to actually execute foreign policy—but every time you've offered an opinion, you've been wrong," Obama said, referencing Romney's initial support for the Iraq war.
The president was harshly critical of Romney, who seemed subdued in his counter-punches. Obama landed a few zingers. "The Cold War's been over for 20 years," he said in response to Romney's comment from several months ago that Russia is America's primary geopolitical foe.
He later said, "Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets," in response to Romney's criticism that America has fewer Navy ships than in the past. "We have these things called aircraft carriers, where planes land on them. We have these ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines," he added, a touch of mockery entering his voice.
Romney frequently pivoted to domestic issues and the economy, including the high number of Americans in poverty, his education record in Massachusetts, and his plans for reducing the deficit.
On foreign policy, Romney did not criticize how Obama handled the murder of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens in Libya, a topic he brought up in last week's town hall style debate. Instead, Romney said the Middle East is in "tumult" and "chaos," and suggested Obama's strategy of killing Al Qaeda leaders in drone strikes is not enough to bring stability to the region.
"We can't kill our way out of this mess," Romney said. "We're going to have to put in place a very comprehensive and robust strategy to help the...the world of Islam and other parts of the world, reject this radical violent extremism, which certainly [is] not on the run."
Despite the crossfire, the candidates seemed to agree on many key foreign policy issues, including the use of drone strikes to kill people believed to be terrorists, harsh sanctions on Iran, and a strategy of avoiding military involvement in Syria.
Obama and Romney are statistically tied among voters in the most recent polls, with Romney able to catch up with the president on the strength of his performance in the first debate in Denver. On foreign policy in particular, Obama's lead over Romney, in the double digits only a few months ago, has shrunk to just four points, according to a recent Pew poll.
Americans considered President Obama the loser in the first debate in Denver by historic margins, and Romney's poll numbers soared after his strong performance there. When the candidates met for a rematch at Hofstra University on Long Island last week, a much more assertive Obama showed up, and snap polls showed he was considered a narrow winner of the night.
It remains to be seen if this debate will provide a "bounce" for either candidate in the last few weeks of the campaign. Voters overwhelmingly say the economy and jobs are the most important issues for them in this election.
...
why didn't romney bring up the underlined part? is it because he knows he was wrong in that debate??
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
That being said... anyone who didn't see Mitt Romney make a complete ass of himself wasn't watching. About 20 minutes in, he started getting twitchy. By the 55 minute mark, he knew he was fucked.
The only times he actually took a position on anything was when he said "I agree with the president that..." or "The president is right when..."
We'll see if this changes anything. But Romney had that look of "at least I'll make a few million on that book and speaking engagement tour."

Obama Wins Debate, CBS Poll Says
Uncommitted voters in a CBS instant poll handed President Barack Obama the victory over Mitt Romney in Monday's debate. Of those polled, 53 percent said Obama won, 23 percent said Romney won and 24 percent it was a tie.
The result is similar to the first debate, when 46 percent of uncommitted voters told CBS that Romney won. The CBS poll showed the second debate was largely a draw.
Uncommitted voters' trust in both candidates on foreign policy improved during the debate. The percentage believing Romney could handle an international crisis rose three percentage points, from 46 percent pre-debate, to 49 percent post-debate. Obama saw a far more dramatic jump, from 58 percent to 71 percent.
Post-debate, voters said Obama would do a better job on terrorism, by a 64 percent to 36 percent margin. The two men were equally trusted on China, with 50 percent of uncommitted voters favoring each to deal with the world's most populous nation.
The CBS News post-debate poll was conducted using the GfK KnowledgePanel, a representative Internet panel, among about 500 uncommitted voters who watched the debate. Uncommitted voters in the CBS poll include those who were either totally undecided before the debate or who were leaning to a candidate, but said they may still change their minds.

oh wait....
i see what you did there....
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
don't take a 10c members word for it, look at the flash polls, obama won each by a range of 7 to 30 points. then look onward to the spin room;
'we held our own' was pretty standard gop talking point.
meanwhile, romney's general agreement w/obama on most policy was annoying, really? and finally, will you please take a position and stick w/it on Afghanistan?
i will say that i was VERY disappointed that we possibly 50-60% of time was spent on Israel, and Iran. ok, we get it, what about the 99% of the world?, how bout our neighbors to the north/south, and finally what about the indisputable fact of global climate change. fk u moderator for not having the balls to bring that up and possibly let both candidates choke on something both parties have criminally neglected during this campaign.
end of rant, obama still won!
