Romney vows to donate salary if elected

  • Actually, missionaries pay for their own missions. They start saving their pennies as children.

If they're rich enough to, yes.

But "Missionaries who cannot save the required funds may obtain assistance from their home congregation or from a general missionary fund operated by the church and contributed to by Latter-day Saints around the world."

Meaning "those tax-exempt charity donations pay for the Mormons who aren't able to pay for it themselves."

ectopic pregnancies do not survive and any women presenting with that condition would need possible life saving surgery to remove it if it hadnt already self aborted... not to mention a ruptured fallopian tube is a medical emergency. i see this as separate to the 'traditonal' abortion issue.

Ok so you're going with the "we don't need a 'Life Of The Mother' exception because the female body has a way of shutting that whole thing down, then?

    I see.

umm no where do you get that from??? all im saying is ectopic pregnancies are medical emergencies and should be handled as such. no bullshit about it being an abortion(though technically thats what it is) or 'life of the mother' exception horseshit. a fallopian tube ruptures a woman could lose her life.. thats all i care about. as for the female body having a way to 'shut that whole thing down'.. there isnt enough land in the world to hold that much fertiliser.

Oh, for a minute I thought he'd donate the 20 mil he makes a year. That would help a shitload of folks! Sweet.
But he's just talking about the salary the President receives. :|

We do know Obama donated here....

When Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, he told the prize committee to wire the money directly to the following charities: $250,000 to Fisher House, which gives free housing to veterans and military families getting medical treatment. $200,000, plus any remaining unallocated money, to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund of the Clinton Foundation, a fund that helped rebuild Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake. $125,000 to the American Indian College Fund, which gives scholarships to Native Americans. $125,000 to the Appalachian Leadership and Education Foundation, which gives scholarships to low-income residents of the Appalachia region. $125,000 to College Summit, an organization that aims to raise college enrollment rates. $125,000 to the Posse Foundation, which provides full scholarships to extraordinary high school students. $125,000 to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, which gives scholarships to Latino students. $125,000 to the United Negro College Fund, which gives scholarships to Black students. $100,000 to Africare, an organization that builds wells and treats disease in Africa. $100,000 to the Central Asia Institute, which focuses on education and public health, primarily for girls in Central Asia By Business Insider

I knew you guys could find fault with Mitt donating his salary ...I knew IT!

Come on aerial what an assumption on your part...I don't know what Mitt is going to do but I was ONLY pointing out what Obama has done and didn't hesitate about it. Also, he's coming from a lower financial bracket than BIG TIME rich Mitt Romeny. If Mitt donates his salary at some point in the future good for him so cool your assumptions aerial PLEASE.

    Thank you.

From Romney's financial status he could give far more than his salary, if he really wanted to make a difference for everyday folks.

Frankly, money given to the Mormons I don't consider to be a charity at all. They use that money to build castles and send teenagers around the world to recruit new members. And he's expected to give 10% of his income to his "church" anyway... if he wants to stay a member.

And the Mormon church has ALSO funded things like Proposition 8 and just a couple of months ago, it was discovered that they were also dispatching teenagers in Swing states to sign up "Romney Voters."

That's tax-deductible money being used to influence elections and build shrines to the Mormon gods on planet Kolob. So... if you ask me.. he hasn't donated money to charity.

"I wouldn't disqualify somebody by virtue of their financial wealth or their financial poverty," Romney added. "I would instead look at their record, what they've done with their life and whether they can make a difference, whether the things they have learned will enable them to be an effective leader."

A question for all to reflect on.

What have you done with your life?

I hope you are all proud of your achievements.
