whats hilarious is that in a lot of media reviews Axl is being praised for being almost ontime. Not the normal 90 minutes late as usual.
Again, none of us are behind the scenes but he does seem to be really into raising money for the Bridge School. So that's one positive. Not the strongest lineup tho this year. I don't feel like i'm missing anything like in previous years.0 -

Do you have a link to any of those reviews? I created this thread having seen Ed there on stage. I think it's just speculation to say he agreed to go on because they were late. It might have been the plan all along to have him be a surprise special guest to join in and play a couple. I didn't think they were really late at all. The schedule times of the artists to appear was way off all day and is like that every single year. I've been to about 8 or 9 of them and the times they give you are never on, and always pushed way back. Just don't know if all this venom at them is warranted, and they certainly weren't an hour and a half late. Every act as it went on was more than 45 minutes or so past their "scheduled" start time as I was watching it. But, I completely agree that Axl's voice was so borderline atrocious and ridiculous it was absolutely laughable. Only at very few times did he sound somewhat ok...and that is being generous. And for the Slash question above...no, he's not a part of this lineup, nor is anyone else as far as I know. (perhaps one, maybe 2 of the original? I really don't know to be honest, but just by watching, I wanna say that it's Axl and all fill-ins.) Living in Vegas, I was thinking of going to see them at their Hard Rock residency run. But now....thank goofness because now I know not to waste my money. I do dig em, and those songs are classics, but without Slash and Axl being so washed up, I'll pass thanks.1/95 DC 7/95 Chicago Tor Tol Cha 96 AlpV I II Chi St L KC 98 BSB I II 99 Phx Vegas Fresno SBern 00 BSB I II 01 (met ed) Vegas Phx Fargo St. Paul Chicago Alpine V Indy Col Virg Phi I II MSG I II (got on DVD!) 03 Calg 05 Clev Vegas LA I II SBar 06 Lon Dus Cop Nij Bel 07 Phi I II DC MSG I II Har BOS I II 08, LA3/4, SD '09, MSG I II '10, Missoula, London ONT, Wrigley, SD, LA1/2, Portland. That was awful. If his being their was the sole reason anyone bought a ticket, then I guess I'm thankful that the Bridge School benefited - but frankly, I hope that douche bag gets booed out of Vegas and never performs again.Osaka, Japan (2/21/95), San Diego (7/10/98), Las Vegas (10/22/00), San Diego (10/25/00), Las Vegas (6/6/03), Las Vegas (7/6/06), Los Angeles (7/9/06), VH1 Rock Honors (7/12/08), Ed Solo (7/8/11), Ed Solo (11/1/12), Los Angeles (11/23/13)0 -

I can relay...got. awesome seats. Sure hope Axel flakes and no shows..love a long Neil and the Horse setLife should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
ride"!

Just finished watching Saturday night's show. It was great to see Eddie, the introduction they gave him was pretty cool too. Really enjoyed Jack White, Gary Clark and of course Neil and The Horse.
The fat singer for that GNR tribute band was truly awful though...
