Gitd vinyl, the worst idea ever! Who dares to put it on the turntable when it's dark.

You can always turn the lights off after putting it on
    My thought exactly. :fp:

Someone buy my original Soldier Field LP. It's certainly not the most expensive PJ vinyl!

    ;)

I play the shit out of my vinyl, no matter how much it costs. I don't see the point of buying it otherwise. If I had the money, I would gladly spend whatever I had to to get Benny Hall or something else that I don't already have to spin. I don't think I'd waste money on vinyl that I CAN listen to already, and just spend a pile of money because the fucking thing glows in the dark. But to each their own! I just don't quite understand buying vinyl if you're not going to play it. Where does the passion for the format come from if not from how awesome it sounds when you play it, and/or from the ritual of taking it out of the jacket without touching the playing surface, and placing it on the turntable and gently dropping the needle... sigh.

As for you Cosmo, that's different if you just have a collection that you used to play but don't have time to listen to anymore... Although that's too bad - the passion for spinning vinyl feels great. :)

    Thanx for that.
I have a bunch of my old records from when I was in high school. I lost a bunch in the various moves and most of them are worn pretty bad.
When CDs first came out.... it was cool because they were miniature versions of my records. And I liked the sound of NOT hearing the clicks and buzzes (or the hissing of the cassette tapes)... it was a change.
In the 90s, I had a bunch of CDs and the novelty of the vinyl came back. We didn't see much vinyl in the latter part of the 80s and vinyl was now a novelty to see new CDs in LP format. So, I started buying them.
I started with Nirvana and Pearl Jam, then Foo Fighters... I got Mellon Collie... and some others. But, just the bands I was serious about.
Nowadays, my adult obsessive compulsive tendencies kicks in and I 'have' to get them, otherwise it bugs me to no end. So, i have all of the Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam records... and the Queens Of The Stone Age, too. It is getting a bit tougher to get them... but, I am grateful to have two GREAT record stores near me... Fingerprints and Amoeba.

I don't smoke and I don't drink. Well, only on special holiday's or event's I'll sip a glass but that's about it. With the amount of money I've seen people throwing away each week on items that turn to ash & piss, they too could be using that flow on sweet PJ candy!! *drools
