Saw PJ in Dusseldorf last Thursday...INCREDIBLE!
Saw RHCP in Nijmegen last Sunday....not bad!
The reviews for RHCP were very double-sided, from both journalists as well as fans. The music was very very well played and Frusciante was on fire. I would even dare to very quietly whisper that he is maybe slightly an inch better then mcCready (ok, you are allowed to kick me now... ).
BUT they were playing on the automatic pilot -a great automatic pilot that is-but something was definitely missing!! They showed no affection at all for the 50.000 ppl that showed up to wait for them for 8 hours or more and had to stand through a horrible support act named Mickey Avalon (WTF??!!). I mean I loved the jamming, Flea and John were smokin' truly. But they were very introvert as well, there was no interaction, no magic as one reviewer said. They also stopped after 1 and a half hours without a true encore. Came like a cold shower to many.
People are now saying on Dutch forums that they do not want to drive all the way to Nijmegen again next Thursday to see Pearl Jam doing a tame concert like that as well. Of course they won't! We all know that, but I want all of them to say it out loud too after the concert.
SO guys, play your f-ing booties off as if it was your last day on our little planet!! Spread some loving like you always do and kick RHCP-butts.
I am ready for an even hotter show then Dusseldorf...
LOVE.Why not be mediocre and be the best at it that you can be?0 -
Parasol wrote:Kushikushun, how was the pit for the RHCP show last sunday? did they had any barrier for the first people who got in?
Hiya, there was a barrier for the first 5.000 that got in. It was a round barrier so you could stand at the end of it as well, which was pretty comfortable for the RHCP-concert. But wont be standing at that side next Thursday...:D
They RHCP show was sold out (50.000), so there might be less in the front part at PJ show. Dont know.
When you get into the first part they give you a wristband and with that you are allowed to leave and enter at your will. This is especially comfortable if you are standing more in the back like we were at RHCP. Nobody wanted to take our place really so we could walk around easily. Still from our place we had a great view!
But when you are all the way up front you cant really leave and return to your place again. Or ppl at the PJ concert must be really sweet and save your place AND let you back in again??!!
I sure hope so, bc it would be nice to get a drink or go to the toilet once in a while without giving up my spot in front of Ed...hehe.
Cant we have a secret handshake or something to know we are ppl from the Pit?Why not be mediocre and be the best at it that you can be?0 -

Oh and as for ur spot in front of Ed, i can watch it out for u for as looooong as u want. Take ur time now, really
We need a secret hand-sign, not a handshake, otherwise we'd have to go about and shaking everybody's hand, heheI'll ride the wave where it takes me...0 -

The weather changes Wednesday...we get better weather. Really!.
(It's like you know me for a long time)
keep up the positive weather thinking and we'll see you in Goffert Park, hopefully without raincoats on. But in case there is rain, i'll be the one with the red raincoat jumping up-and-down and screaming "Eddiiiiieeee"I'll ride the wave where it takes me...0 -

How long did this front barrier take to fill up at RHCP. Was it well and truly full before the first support act?_______________________

well, last year in Arnhem the front part was full in about 10 to 15 minutes or so.
I was lucky enough to be there on time and get in without a tenclub ticket
i think it will be the same in Nijmegen, the run to the front will be a bit longer though...~Arnhem - 29/08/2006
