i am pro womam 24x7, 365 on a constant. however, sarah palin would not and will not ever earn my respect with the murdering of wolves & bears & other critters. to me she is a uneducated unless b-word.

hilary clinton is probably a decent human being yet that whole clinton thing jams things up with me as they are both crafty ass attorneys; fuck a bunch of that noise.

mother teresa is god damn fantastic and that is the exact type of human being we need in office

    honestly?

I think it's because both parties have tried to distract us with insignificant social issues that have zero to negligible effect on the economy and instead of trying to tackle the real problems that are hard for most voters to grasp, we spend years debating things like "should we pay Dr. Female as much as we pay Dr. Male" or "should we let Jasun sponsor Carlo as his spouse for immigration."

We don't really look at "how to tax incentives for multinational corporations favor business practices that keep jobs and infrastructure here in America while still allowing those companies to be competitive in a world market" or "can we develop a sustainable energy source that would not tangle us with Middle Eastern dictators but instead invest back in our own country? And if so... how much money should we invest trying to develop those technologies?"

And of course... there is so much social discord among Americans... People from the bible belt elect evangelicals who believe the world is "but 6000 years old like it says in the bible" so they can counter the liberals from "California who want to force your daughter to get an abortion and force your son to bunk with a gay man in the military."

Nobody checks the credentials of these people we're sending to Washington to handle economic and foreign issues so we have a bunch of people bickering about social issues because they don't understand things like "money" and "international commerce."

I once got in a chat with a conservative who insisted that Sarah Palin was "an energy expert." I asked him what that even meant... her degree was in journalism, not Electrical Engineering or Bio Technology. When I pointed this out, he called me a "hippie liberal" and said "you just want to make us all a bunch of tree huggers until you have to clear all those trees for your vegan diet, you commie."

And I'm probably guilty of saying that Republicans can only count to 32 and even that starts to go away when they start to lose their teeth.

We don't have leaders who can lead us because we're too busy looking for leaders who can help us win the culture war that they've used to distract us.
  • I voted for Hillary Clinton over Obama in the primary four years ago. I don't think it matters at all if the canidate is a man or woman.

    .
i guess you mean, you vote for Hillary Clinton cos you thought he will run the office better than Obama and not cos she is a woman.right.?
and if hilary was with republicans, and obama with democrats, will you vote for Hilary for president??
or cos she would be with republican party, then you will vote for Obama ..?

ill be very intrested to see a woman at the white house..will be very cool imo

Yeah the fact that she was a woman didn't factor into the vote. Basically her husband's two terms as president was the deciding factor for me. And no, I would never vote for a republican for president unless said republican nominee saved me from getting hit by a bus or something.

Because no one decent wants to wade through all that political bullshit you have to wade through to get to the point where running for president is an option. Only power hungry assholes have the desire to schmooze in that atmosphere, are willing to step on people while they're at it to get further, and those are the ones able to spin shit and get there anyway they can. A dcent person would havento be an honest person, and its dishonesty that allows politicians to move up the ranks (as voters continuously allow fheir faith to convince them thst THIS time they're being honest). Unfortunately, the good guy does not always come out on top. In federal politics, the bad guys won a long time ago, and now it's systemic. It will literally take a civilian-lead revolution to change that now, and we're just too comfy to do that.

Very well said ... Can I add that it takes millions to get elected ... And that virtually removes anyone who comes from the general population...and that too me is the sad part at how much is spent on politics and getting people elected instead of helping the poor and feeding the hungry.

there was a woman running from president??

you think more women will vote for her, only cos its woman?..how men will vote?

is it really matters??president be a woman or a man??

..i think never was a woman president in the past, right?

got this idea from the other thread and the conversation about black-white voters..

im very intresting in your opinions..

Hillary Clinton tried to run for president last time. She had quite a bit of support but there were a lot of people who wouldn't want her just because she was a woman.

Maybe it's still too early? Maybe there have to be several terms of a mixed race male president before people will think it's time for a woman?

    I don't know.

I think she might have been a good president.

The biggest objection I heard about Hillary in the last election was that she was married to Bill. Would he try to run things from behind the scenes, etc.

It's hard for me to understand why anyone would want to be president. What a thankless job.

May I ask why? What, all things being equal, would then make your decision gender-based?

What if this were about skin color, or religion, or sexual orientation?

Does making the final choice based on those factors indicate bias?
