Has Anyone seen Obama

I went yard sailing today and drove around for hours. I noticed I did not see one Obama sign. I'm thinking this is very strange. I did see an unusual amount of Romney yard signs. So I was wondering has anyone seen any Obama yard signs? I have never seen anything like it on any election.

There are plenty of them around here... odd, because they are in the minority through most of this city.

There's probably more in swing states. My state was incorrectly, in my opinion, identified as a swing state 4 years ago and Obama signs were everywhere. Obama's a lock this time around, and there's fewer signs.

I haven't seen many signs for any candidates for any of the races...mostly just some bumper stickers

That reminds me. I did read in the local paper (small beach community) that some residents were having there Romney signs stolen. One lady even called the police. First I though "over a ten dollar sign" but then it was reported it was not the first time but the third time.

I have not seen any sign of Obama either but then this is a fairly small town. Not likely he'll be here any time soon. hahaha!

Bit seriously, speaking of campaign signs- after Missoula we went through western Montana, into Washington, down through Oregon and back to California. The campaigns signs I remember seeing most on that trip were anti-Obama signs in Oregon. Other than Portland and Eugene, that's a very conservative state- maybe the epitome of a socially divided state here in the U.S.

There was a news story a few weeks ago about a family's Obama sign being defaced with racist slogans. The sign was shown with the offensive language blocked out. The homeowner said they were so surprised that they were installing home security cameras.

About a week later we got a follow up story, complete with footage from the homeowner's camera, of a car stopping in front of the house and someone getting out and stealing the sign.

There is a local candidate that I'd like to support with a yard sign because I live on a fairly busy street but for the same reason I'm afraid it might invite vandalism. Possibly by my next door neighbor, who has a sign for the opponent.

Hopefully they caught them. It sucks how some people have no respect for others.

Gunshot Shattering Window At Obama Campaign Office Part Of Troubling Pattern

Frankly, the days of lawn signs are waning. They invite vandalism and they're eyesores. And they create a bad vibe among neighbors.

Now that we have Twitter and Facebook and forums.pearljam.com we can make our political views known without inviting teenagers to throw rocks at our houses.

  • Quite a few Obama bumper stickers around here.

The only Romney thing I've see is the "Mitt Romney Dog Shit Bags" they're selling at the local pet store.

Well there are soooooo many Romney signs here. There five house in a row then skip a few then 10 houses in a row and on and on. That is why I even noticed because there are so many. Then I start looking for Obama and nothing. Very few bumper stickers though. Very strange.

Palm Beach County Florida in our community of 200 homes I've 2 signs and both were for Romney. I don't think one Obama sign will go up in this upscale area and as someone said in only brings resentment or vandalism. Lots of bumperstickers for both candidates and more to come as this race goes down to the wire.

For myself I never use or want political candidate's signs or stickers.

  • I've never had a lawn sign. Nobody can see my lawn. I have a hedge and a gate that surrounds the front of my house. So if I was to hammer a sign into it, it would just be something else for the dogs to pee on.

Even when I had a house that had a visible lawn... I've always found those signs to be kinda tacky. And pointless.

Well considering you live in an extremely "red" area, that might explain why you see no Obama signs in your neighborhood.

I go to key west at least twice a year. Will be there from December 24th to January 3rd this year.

You can watch a video of me driving from Miami to Key West in my signature.

    Yeah...fucked up.

What with social media as mentioned, I think the physical vandalism has become a digital version.

Here, I've seen nothing in terms of signs, bumperstickers - except for one Romney/Ryan sticker on a car. Surprising, in this particular area of LA.

yes they do. i had my gore signs stolen and the replacements ripped down. i had my kerry sign ripped in half, part of it stayed on the wooden stake and who knows what happened to the other half. i had an obama sign that i moved closer to my house and someone came up and vandalized that one too. it was too close to my cars and my porch and the thought of someone coming 50 feet up my front yard to deface a sign kind of bothered me. so no signs this year.

that said, i am in the suburbs of st louis and i have seen more obama signs around than romney ones, but i have seen a lot more todd akin signs than claire mccaskill ones

  • I am also in Florida. I spend a lot of time in Boca Raton and West palm beach. I havent seen a single Obama sign. My family lives in a pretty ordinary part of Boca, and there are strings of dozens of houses in a row with Romney signs. I was slightly surprised. Butt hen, Obama is the incumbent and I've simply got to wonder if obama suporters really care if little Timmy next door knows if they're going to vote for Obama.

West palm? the Romney signs are popping up everywhere...but thats near palm beach (around the corner form Trumps pad), and to be expected.

To add I drove around lost this weekend on north Palm Beach Island and while trying to find my way I could not find not one Obama sign while seeing 5 Romney ones. I also dropped my daughter of in Royal Palm Beach not nearly as upscale as the island...I saw 9 Obama signs to 2 Romney. What do I gather from that is the wealthy seem to prefer Romney while the middle of the road voters seem to prefer Obama.

It was encouraging to actually see my first Obama sign.

Live in upstate NY, and was just in the Philly suburbs for a wedding.

Plenty of Obama signs bumper stickers here at home.

From what I saw in Philly--was also there a month ago--this is the breakdown that I saw:

The more middle class, blue collar neighborhoods (Conshohocken, Manayunk, some parts of Nova): Obama
The neighborhoods that we more upscale areas (Bryn Mar, some parts of Nova): Romney, but with some Obama signs. A lot of these homes were gated, on beautiful streets, I even saw one with a few par 3 holes on the property.
