I've asked this before, isn't just as much racist if you are black to vote for Obama because he is black? Or in other words I am voting for Obama because Romney is white. To vote for anyone solley based on the color of the skin is idiotic, does it happen? Yes, but it is not just white people doing it.
If this were the sole reason that blacks voted for a candidate, Jesse Jackson would have been elected a long time ago.
When has JJ made it to the presidential elections? I know he ran but he has never been on the ticket.
He was a perennial candidate in the 80s. No he wasn't on the ticket, my point being that if that were the only reason for voting for a black candidate, he'd have been elected president, or at the least wouldn't have flamed out in the primaries.
I see brown pride t-shirts black pride t shirts asian and island pride t shirts and when a white guy wears a white pride t shirt it's offensive,
That's not a "white pride" T-shirt. That's a racist, White-Power, anti-black T-shirt.
There is quite a difference.
If you can't see the difference between pride in your own culture and hating another... there is little hope for you. I hope you DO understand that when we have GLBT Pride day.. that's not us saying that we hate straight people.

exactly...It's wonderful to take pride in your own culture/ethnic background/gender identity/sexual orientation/etc...I certainly do....and doing so does not equate to hating any other culture (etc), thinking your culture (etc) is better or wanting to diminish, devalue, hate or discriminate against another. I'd even argue that hating another's culture (etc) shows little pride in your own and does much more to devalue it.

In regards to arielscomments to me that I need to research before I speak of the tea party....I attended one to see for myself...disgusting vile racists. NOT ONE person stood up and called anyone out for the hatred that was being spewed. Check for yourself the pictures of signs displayed at any one of them. You certainly cannot live that sheltered. And the N word I hear is flowed out like no big deal from our clients that include ...doctors wives..business owners..and the likes of the supposed "upper class". And the best... followed up most times by socialist Muslim!! And not one of these people are rappers. I lived through the sixties ....saw first hand what this country did to a group of humans who just wanted the same rights as anyone else. So I guess ive researched and fought along side people to overcome the hatred of nothing but the Color of someones skin.

I have been to many Tea Parties and have NEVER seen what you are talking about. Racist is used for almost anything now.
What clients? What business are you in?
The N word is allowed these days unless you are not black. Then you cannot use that word. Here is an example. A girl at my work who is white but dates Black men thought she was allowed to say Niga. She is a young girl and insisted she did not say the N world she said Niga. I personally did not know there was a different N word. So I'm thinking she knows what she is talking about. She and a Black man were joking around (well he was hitting on her) some were in the banter she said " you need to stop Niga". He turns her in to HR and she almost gets fired. Yet any day of the week you can here the word Niga or the other N word thrown around so casually between the Black guys. So who is wrong?

Oh dear. A white straight Christian guy is about to complain about how he's discriminated against and has had his word weapons taken away from him.

A white person or for that matter, anyone but a black person is not allowed to use that word. I know that it's like a kick in the gut to be told that you can't do something because of your skin colour and this is a new feeling.
Imagine how you'd feel if it was a lunch counter, water fountain, seat on a bus or job as a fireman.

She did not use the word as a weapon......it is either a bad word or not......I thought is was a bad word, yet the rappers made it just another word...you know like "this bike is Bad!" Bad now means Good.....
Now some have started a whole new way to discriminate by not allowing people to use words they use themselves. Why use derogatory words no matter who you are? or are they derogatory? :?

They're reclaiming the word. They're taking back a word that has been used to be hateful and hurtful and taking the power out of the word by putting they're own spin on it. Different words in different contexts have totally different meanings.

I'm pretty sure you know the answer to this question anyway.
Minorities will take the words used against them as weapons and use them in an empowering way amongst each other. But that doesn't make it ok for anyone outside that minority to continue to use the words.
If not being able to call a black man "nigger" makes you feel that you're a victim of discrimination, you obviously don't know what the word "discrimination" means. While I personally wouldn't allow that word to be used at my place of business even between black employees, I'm not going to tell another minority culture which of their customs are and are not acceptable in their own homes.
FYI...the idiot in the photo hails from the great state of Ohio.....was photographed 20 miles from my home.I work in a hair salon......where women feel its okay to " talk off the cuff". I don't care personally if your black..white...purple ..blue whatever....NEVER a need to use the N word. You use the same old reasoning that its okay .." not that offensives" because black people use a version of it. I was simply saying I hear it daily.....and HATE the word....because these women don't mean it in a joking way. And on the subject of tea parties....people can sugar coat as much as they want the majority of members are also carrying the card of the white supremest group the Kkk. This just gives them the legitimacy....its accepted. Don't know about your area Ariel....but here in the buckeye state.....have seen more confederate flags than in south Carolina....hell my neighbor has an empty chair hanging with a sign next to it that says " God bless America"....our rural police turn a blind eye. Its pretty much the same view amongst them. The statement " they cling to guns..God and gays" applies to them.....but in the appropriate way..Not in my view. Were supposed to be as a nation better than this....or wearing a shirt like the racist choose....it is why it is!

I would think it just shows you have great taste in old school hip hop.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

You were walking around with a t-shirt promoting an album with a provocative title. You weren't telling people that was how you felt.
Honestly, are you just playing clueless or is this what all Romney supporters are like?
I ain't no democrat or republican either.
I was just asking a question that was only semi related to this thread. There were times that I wondered if people would view it as racist - one way or the other.

i dont think that anyone has the privilege to say the other party supporters are racist only...
racism comes from all parties and sides...there is not an exclusive party when it comes to racism..
you can be a democrat,or republican and be racist..
