As part of the Sydney Festival, there's a currently 15 metre high rubber duck bobbing around in Darling Harbour:
It was created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman with the sole purpose of providing a little joy in people's lives. 'Rubber Duck', he says, doesn't discriminate and has no political connotation. "It relieves everyday tensions, as well as defining them. Its purpose is to do no more than amaze."
And maybe give a little reminder of all the plastic floating around the world's beaches and waters, and that we all have to contribute to looking after 'the bathtub'.
I love this!
And the sun it may be shining . . . but there's an ocean in my eyes
I took this black and white shot of Cat Power at her Sydney show. She sang 'Angelitos Negros' with just 2 white lights at the back of the stage and every now and then she would cross in front of one, creating a really cool silhouette.

it is when youre australian. we dont see a whole lot. i know im easily amused my it. i recently spent half a day wandering around mont royal park in montreal and i couldnt take enough pics of snow, bare trees and squirrels.

take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say
This morning I saw the little motorised trains that take people around Darling Harbour being brought out and lined up for the day. Even though they're not much faster than walking pace, they looked like they were on the starting line of a race - it helps if you think of Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now"
