Having dinner with Duff and Mike

Just found out my buddy won the auction to have dinner withboth and is allowed to invire 2 others. He emailed me and said it is suppose to be the time of our lives and if u are around my wife a i are invited to go. So excited, i have met both several times before but never just a small group of 4 and having dinner.Going to be crazy dont want to bother to much of album, tour, etc etc but want to ask. What other intersting things should i ask about.

    wow, congrats as you are certainly lucky and your friend is a great friend to include you! When Tres Mtns was here in Philly, I was lucky to spend about 10 minutes with Mike but I regret not saying 2 things to him:
    1) Inside Job is absolutely brilliant and I wish I could thank him for this gift he gave us. Musically and lyrically it is wonderful and I wish I told him this!
    2) My son loves Mike McCready. His favorite band is Iron Maiden and when we listen to bootlegs, he always asks me if Mike will ever play some notes from an Iron Maiden song.

    So this is what I would love for you to tell or ask him LOL. Anyway, congrats and let us know how the evening goes.

    Ask Mike about his staring and some of his moves. I recently saw him at the DeLuna fest and he would focus on someone and stare at them for like 30 seconds. It was pretty intense if he started staring at you.

    Then he would do some of these classic Rock Start moves with the pointing of the finger, etc... I was wondering if he's joking around with some of these moves and what is going through his mind when he's locked in on someone.

    I had this happen during RITFW at MIA. It was wild to be locked in with him. I've always wondered about his fan interaction while playing. He's so much more engaged with the audience than the other guys. What does it do for him?

    question for duff; the use your illusion albums are way overproduced imo. what is duff's opinion of the mix and does he ever foresee a release of grittier studio versions?

    for mike; what cover songs would he like pj to play and/or what songs has he nominated but got 'shot down in flames'?

    lastly, tell mike to play the south in 2013!

    Get the show from Columbus in August 2000. Start it at the Encore Break and let it play. Actually, that's a great show...start it from Breakerfall. :)

    I forget where the Iron Maiden snippet actually is (I'm 99% sure it's in there somewhere), but Ed does mention Iron Maiden during the Encore Break.

    Now I feel like a dumb ass. You got my wheels grinding and thanks to our friends at TFT, I found a few times Mike did some Iron Maiden snippets. Low and behold, I was at 2 of this shows LOL. Camden 2000 and MSG 2003. DOH! I have both these boots and am digging for them tonight. I will look for Columbus too. There's one from the Europe 2000 tour where EV gives a shout out to IM and says something about 2 Eddie's being there (EV + IM's mascot). I need to get that boot now for my son too!

    Mike's stare's were wickedly cool/frightning/sick/twisted/etc/etc...it made for some intense trance like solo's that he was putting us into...

    the entire mile long walk back to our car at Deluna....We kept sayin'...."Mike was unfucking real!!!"!!!
    "Mike F'n McCready" "Was that even real?"
    "This was totally Mike's night"
    "Mike did this" and "mike did that"...
    even myself being a big pj fan...was blown away...blown blown blown away...
    did you hear me??? BLOWN AWAY!!!

    It also makes a huge difference when you are really really close....

    the next night in atlanta...we were on mikes side again (not planned, i love both sides)...
    the crowd was so huge though...we didn't get anywhere near as close as the night before...
    it was still great but nothing like the stares we got in Deluna from mike...you just had to be in that 20' vacinity of his crazy eye's....

    what a great time we had...
    PJ/Tenclub/and the entire PJ crew and family..."We couldn't thank you guys/girls enough"

    Is there not a little snippet of Iron Maiden in the Live At The Garden DVD when Ed is talking about the bands who have had the stage bouncing in the past (Iron Maiden, Grateful Dead & Springsteen)?
