I've seen both close out the first set but I think an extended version of RVM beats out Porch by a nose hair.

What do you think is the better first set closer?

Both are ace but push come to shove I'd have to go with r e a r v i e w m i r r o r It has just that little bit more intensity on the final stretch....

I'd quite like to hear Porch with the old intro for a change..

RVM for consistency....when they're slamming the chords towards the end and the strobe light is going crazy it's almost too much, but there are some classic early versions of Porch that might be among the best stuff PJ has ever played.
  • RVM at the end of the first set.
Porch in the last legs of the show, amongst the covers, Alive, and YL.
Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"
  • Old school Porch where they really jammed it and opened up the middle wins for me. However, given the current versions of each, I'd give the nod to Rearviewmirror.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

  • RVM for me - what a powerful song.

I loved Porch in 2000 when they made it a bit shorter - Not so keen on the extended middle part these days.

Would love to see them stretch out The Fixer abit

    Agree.

The way they've developed the jam in RVM from 06 onwards (utilising Jeff's cool bass run) is out of this world.

But then in 92...when in the middle of the Porch jam the band start slipping in Jesus Christ Pose with a little bit of Eddie screaming "Tearing" over the top......heaven.

I wonder if that's been done. I would probably lose it if I was there.
