Just starting to watch this on Netflix. I'm only maybe 7 episodes in, and it is very very entertaining. Wow, a LOT happens to these people in a very short period of time, lol.

I'm glad you are enjoying it! It's very...um, 'intense'.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
Yeah I liked season 3 a lot and I'm liking this season so far. I'm pretty sure I heard that season 5 will be where it ends, which I like, most shows overstay their welcome.

So I'm finally starting to wrap this series up after stopping for no good reason after season 3 last year - I'm about halfway through the last season now. Holy shit, Norman is so much crazier in this show than he seemed in the movies... and better! And way fucking creepier when it comes to Norman's feelings for his mom. Icky. A much more interesting character and persona than Anthony Perkins played IMO (nothing against Perkins - he also played it well). Also, they did something really great with the Mother character. She is so much better than I ever conceived Mother to have been from the way she was manifested in the movies. I absolutely LOVE this series.

Most underrated show of recent times. Such a great series....
For sure! ... I just finished the series last night.... Ending was excellent, although I actually watched the entire thing under the impression that this was an actual prequel to his his life when he's older, where Hitchcock's (inferior, IMO) version picks up. So the end of the TV series was a surprise for me to say the least. While I enjoyed the ending, at the same time I feel just a bit disappointed that I wasn't right about that. Would have been cool if it had led us into the original Psycho movie (different era issue notwithstanding). Or at least it could have allowed room for its own sequel when he got older.... I guess what ended up being a complete disconnect between the TV (young Norman) series and the movie (older Norman) series wasn't my ideal scenario. But anyway, that aside, yes, I think this ranks as one of the best TV series ever.

Norma is a strange mix of endearing and irritating. She also has a Patricia Arquette thing going on (not a bad thing, mind you).
