I think what all people who are highly nationalistic, regardless of what country they are from, often tend to not recognize is the greater importance of being a member of a community and of a geographic region and also tend to not recognize the fact that all geographic regions share one thing in common: they are all are a part of one whole-- the same planet. On the grand scale of things, nations are ephemeral whereas geographic regions and the planet as a whole are much more stable and essential to our existence.
