Hong Kong (CNN) -- The Chinese manufacturer of many of Apple's products has denied allegations that it forced students to work on its assembly lines in a last-minute push to ready the iPhone 5, expected to be unveiled Wednesday.

Godfather.
If they had done this sooner, I could have preordered it in August!!!!

i actually dislike all people whom have the craving for the latest devices. they are the equivalent of the dipshits fighting at the super wal-mart on black friday
did i ever tell y'all i despise ridiculous bullshit people who actually need their heads slapped with giant pieces of glass

Don't believe him, he asked me last week to pre-order him an Iphone 5 to replace his ancient Samsung Galaxy S3 since he won't have computer access.
I'll send ya the tracking number Chadwick.
Thanks, Chad.
You don't like it, don't buy it.
Okay
outside of that - it will suck to lose the free iphone to iphone stuff and the integration of itunes and iphoto but c'est la vie ...
Yes. CAPITALISTS disagree.

I would agree...it doesn't seem to matter what companies products you purchase.

Well put, Chadwick, but the power of materialism and consumerism is one that cannot be wished away.
My girlfriend hates shopping; she refers to the malls as "hell on earth." This, obviously, makes me very happy.
There is nothing more grotesque to me than a girl showing off her new pair of shoes that were likely made in Thailand by a 13 year old in a sweatshop, or that new pocketbook that was likely made in the Philippines by a14 year old.
Out of sight, out of mind. Nothing more important than having the latest phone.
give me that new i5
And you posted this on your MADE IN USA home computer???
...hilarious when high-minded individuals try to disparage others who may enjoy lavish luxuries such as "a new pair of shoes"...
...all while bemoaning this injustice on their high-tech MADE IN CHINA personal computer.
There's no way to avoid it, and everyone owns something that was manufactured in one of these places...
Hypocrisy: "Everybody's doin' it!"
I was referring to overindulgence in materialistic pursuits without any regard of the conditions under which these products were made.
You truly missed the point in your response. The gluttonous materialism in this country is a plague. There is a big difference between buying products on a global marketplace and an understanding of what types of working conditions we support.
I was just reading your exact words, "There is nothing more grotesque to me than a girl showing off her new pair of shoes that were likely made in Thailand by a 13 year old in a sweatshop...
Everybody has there own opinion on what the most "grotesque" thing in the world is.... mine is different.
I've seen worse things on the news today.
Maybe you could explain what that "big difference" is... Sounds like now you're saying that as long as you are aware that your computer is made in a sweat shop, its ok. Its the oblivious consumers that are "grotesque".
Maybe Im just not as enlightened.
Yeah, I find killing in the name of "god" to be a little more grotesque.
which by the way i wanna salute them fuckers so badly. i am actually jealous of jungle people. i wanna live the way they live. this new updated haul ass world bites my balls

I'm pissed I have to wait till the 14th to preorder!!!!

Now we are getting into semantics. I, too, feel that there are an infinite number of things that we can label more grotesque than showing off a pair of shoes that were made in a sweat shop by a 14 year old in Thailand.
My statements though, are part of a larger criticism of how our gluttonous materialism affects other parts of the world, and where we consume, consume, consume without any idea of the conditions and abuses that others suffer through. Think about the diamond trade in Africa.
And, in case you haven't noticed, I use the word "we" a lot. I concentrate on buying local, organic foods and made in America products. Have I always? No. Do I spend my life in a mall? No. I actually won't step foot in a mall or in a chain restaurant, and so on and so on.
The problem is that even if we are aware of the sweats hops, we don't care. We want what we want and we don't care about the process of how we get it.
Ok, but where did you buy the computer you are typing on?
You saw this, right?: "And, in case you haven't noticed, I use the word "we" a lot. I concentrate on buying local, organic foods and made in America products. Have I always? No. Do I spend my life in a mall? No. I actually won't step foot in a mall or in a chain restaurant, and so on and so on."
The computer I am typing on was provided by the library. My laptop is an HP, which could have been made in CHina, Palo Alto, Texas, or Mexico. I'll get back to you as it is of utmost importance to the point I was making.
Screw it, let's say it was made in China. Your turn.
1. Why the prejudice for the iPhone? Isn't your computer just as culpable as the phone? Its probably just the Apple corporation, and your interpretation of what it stands for that bugs you... the phone is actually kind of handy.
2. What is keeping you from following your dreams and living in the jungle? Seriously. Why are you NOT doing it?
Thanks.
Are you serious?
Your reply was silly.
1. Why the prejudice for the iPhone? What is the topic of the thread? I am talking about gluttonous materialism in this country. I am talking about the idea that people place value on the things they own and not on who they are.
2. What?
Let me add that I will not reply to anymore of your juvenile responses. When your discourse rises above the level of a gibbon, then we can engage.
