u really think parking will be that bad eh? I am still debating whether to drive or take the GO to Union Station and walk. Did you mean the Go will be operating all night?

I'm not 100% on the parking situation. I know there will be some displays in the immediate area of Massey Hall, and a ton of people walking around. Nuit Blanche runs from 7:03 through sunrise, so I'm just guessing things might get a little rough for drivers. I've only been to the thing once (and was somewhat inebriated), so I'm not certain what the parking will be like. I just don't want anyone having any bad surprises getting there.
As for the GO, I didn't really look into it since I want considering taking it. Hopefully someone will be able to provide better answers for ya.
Thought I was going to the show tonight in philly with someone from the pj boards, but guess not (she hasn't called or texted yet). :?

Ben killed it in Ann Arbor last Wednesday.
Unbelievable covers of Hallelujah (Jeff Buckley), Atlantic City (Bruce), and Indifference on the xylophone!!!!!!!!

We heard the same covers in Toronto on Saturday, and you're right: Ben absolutely killed it. I was fortunate to be front row for the show, a first for me at a seated show. The experience I had can't even be put in words. In addition to the covers, highlights for me included Like a King, I'll Rise, Excuse Me Mr. and Please Bleed.
That's an understatement. 3+ hours, 33 songs. He seemed genuinely moved by the audience, at one point even asking "how did you guys hear about me?" Also, I loved when he took the girls cell phone and put it on one of his mic stands and sang to it. Would love to see that video.
I got the blueish one. If you've seen him, there are a bunch of symbols in the backdrop of the stage. The front left pocket of the hoodie has the the person holding the guitar and the back is just like the backdrop and says Ben Harper underneath.

Was at the Carnegie Hall show tonight. So happy I didn't read this before the show. Did not expect it and they were all amazing!
He was doing some stuff on the xylophone and then I hear a familiar tune and I was like Indifference! It was awesome. Who woulda thunk it! At some point after that Ben starts talking about the top 3 moments in his life in music. I thought he was going to say "playing Carnegie Hall" but he actually says singing with Ed Vedder, hearing Solomon Burke sing his song (and then he feels bad he didn't wear a hat Solomon gave him) and meeting Jeff Buckley and being so in awe only to have Jeff ask him to show him the slide guitar. Ben then proceeds to sing Hallelujah with the slide guitar. I actually started crying at that point, it was so touching. I love the mutual respect all these great musicians have for each other. Made me think of Chris Cornell with Jeff Buckley's phone on stage, and Ed with his wings from Dennis Flemion. I love these gestures.
And then at some point Ben starts talking about Springsteen and how today some kid walks up to him and tells him he's the new Boss (because he's been playing these 3+ hour shows; we only got 2.5 hours but no complaints here!!). And then he says he's not the Boss he's just the Branch Manager (or something like that). Then he plays Atlantic City and he does the 1-2-3-4. So funny.
Another highlight was when he played the uke without being plugged in and no microphone.
Really hope there's an audio floating around somewhere. And videos!
I'm glad you had a great time. Ben has been killing it this tour (like he does every tour). Must have been nice to be surprised with Indifference, I had a peek at setlists before my show.

It was! Although I wasn't terribly surprised, I know he does it sometimes. Indifference on the xylophone, however, complete surprise and very cool. I was also very touched by the thoughtfulness that went into Ben's set when he was paying tribute to various people. And it's just such a treat to see anyone at Carnegie Hall, let alone musicians that I love. So classy, the acoustics are amazing and the ushers are so pleasant. The Chris Cornell show there last year was nothing short of epic. Now to get Ed to play there next and my life will be complete.

it looks like driving is doable, but I'm not going to risk it.
Looks like the GO will continue as regularly scheduled, with some added trains: http://mobile.scotiabanknuitblanche.ca/ ... rvice.html

Still available. Pay what you want! I just don't want the ticket to go to waste.
