    Will a #2 pencil work?

Well, I guess since it's Ron Paul i'll use one of those old school feather pens.
It will give it more of a "founding fathers" feel. ;)

I wrote him in last time, but he wasn't eligible as a write-in in my state. I knew that and did it anyway.

    I'm voting for Carl Weathers.

It may be a weird pick, but your talking to someone who actually got to vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger in Cali. :)

Just be careful if you're in Florida, anything questionable is automatically tossed in as a vote for Bush Jr.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

No, because despite your objections, you are in fact wasting your vote. Having a write in candidate get a (Relatively) handful of votes will not change anything for future elections. While we need change, this has no impact.

So, while your choices may not be great, you're better off not wasting your time than perceiving yourself as some great revolutionary that is instituting change.

It's like going to McDonald's and insisting on Pepsi when they only carry Coke. We all know Coke sucks, but I've already decided to go, so I can pick Coke or water. Insisting on Pepsi isn't changing anything. You can think you're changing what they are doing (if me and my 3 friends do this enough, maybe they'll offer Pepsi ALSO!), but you're not.

Of the 2 clowns, pick who you think will do the best job. Otherwise, you are letting everyone else choose your next President.

That's a sad way to look at it and is exactly what is wrong with this country. Nothing will ever change if we continue to vote like that.

So, you think it will change if you and a dozen of your friends write in Ru Paul?

(the 2 clowns reference was for the Ru Paul fans as I would assume that is their glib view. It is not necessarily mine.)

Our votes don't matter anyway, when are people going to understand this? I suppose if you live in a swing state, your vote "could" matter a bit more. But, if you don't, it's pretty much meaningless.

When was an election decided by one vote in a non-swing state? Moreover, when has the popular vote been decided by one vote - ever?

If more people were to do it instead of being brainwashed into thinking there are no other choices then yes. It's not a quick process, but, it can happen over time. Baby steps.

That is true for the National election. But for local stuff, it's not. I live in NY and National elections are a waste of my time. So, maybe I will write in Ru Paul.

Right - that's what I was talking about though - national elections. I live in PA, so I guess you could argue my vote matters, but if I lived in TX... my vote would not matter whatsoever.

I don't think that is what he meant at all, I think he was referring to people being brainwashed into voting for the lesser of two evils and that the way to vote is based on who you are against...That is a common thought by many voters. It is seen in the way that people discuss politics...they discuss the other guys issues that they don't like rather than telling people what they do like about their candidate.

I think he is the answer simply because he is one of the few people who have ever run for president that didn't WANT the power...hope that makes sense

Since both sides are always trying to attract the middle of the road folks in order to win, why don't we just start a party for the middle of the road folks?
